FIVE - The Start of α Change

"Ah! There they are." 

I immediately turned my head around to see Mom and Jack looking outside the window. Mom looked pretty excited, while Jack on the other hand looked as if he'd just seen α ghost. 

Things escalated pretty fast since I arrived here, and my suspicions about what was happening in this town were starting to grow. I thought Addison would know something, but she herself told me that she didn't know of any strange activities happening around the small town. Either she was true to her words, or she was really good at lying. Which is definitely not true, because Addison... Well... She's terrible at lying. 

I finished up the last bits of the cake that Mom had made for Jack's birthday, before placing the paper plate on the coffee table in front of me. Addison and I were keen on finding out how Jack and Miko managed to get α motorbike and car of their own. I was definitely surprised that Mom bought Jack α motorbike, and from what I've heard, it's one expensive bike. I walked up to the window and tilted my head to look outside. Honestly, all I could say was...

"Holy shit..."

Mom was the first to respond, "Language, Y/N!" 

Addison stepped beside me to take α look too, although she was pretty much speechless. I knew Addison had α thing for working with automobiles. She was really passionate about it. So this would definitely be α bright side for her. 

"Come outside!" Miko said as she opened the door and eagerly ran towards her green SUV. Yeah, I was still pretty much confused, and as I stepped out the door I felt like my eyes were deceiving me. 

"That one is Miko's." Mom said as she pointed at the SUV, she then turned and pointed at the blue motorbike, "That one is Jack's.", she turned again and pointed to another vehicle, which looked more like α sports car. "Uh, that one belongs to Agent Fowler." 

I swear to God I heard α revv coming from that white sports car, almost as if it didn't like what Mom had just said. Then again, it was probably just jetlag, and my ears deceiving me. 

"Where did you even get them? I thought Jasper didn't have many shops for cars and bikes..." I asked curiously. Why did I still feel like something was very off?

"We ordered them online! Αren't they cool?" Miko exclaimed excitedly, as she stood in front of her dark green SUV. Addison quickly inspected it too, and then took α look at Jack's motorcycle. Although, she was then quick to move to the white sports car. 

"Woah." She gasped, "So this one belongs to that guy we saw this afternoon?" 

Mom gave α nod as she stood next to her, "Well, it's more of α government vehicle, but he uses it when he comes to Jasper." She explained. Addison walked around the car slowly, inspecting it. She looked really intrigued by it, and impressed. 

I turned to look at Jack and Miko who seemed to have been exchanging grins at each other. "Do you like him, Addison?" Miko asked playfully. I didn't think much of the question while Addison responded back, "He's definitely α car I would get one day."

I froze once I realised what the two were saying. Him and he? Do cars even have genders? No, Y/N, stop it, you're just... Not thinking straight. 

"He?" I raised my brow questioningly at Addison. She only smiled and nodded at me, before she then realised what she said and her facial expression turned into an alarming one. "Now you guys are just playing with me." She said with α chuckle. 

I turned to look at Jack and Miko again, but this time they both looked like they had just said something wrong. They were still and their mouths looked like they were shutting them on purpose.
