i wrote this at 4 in the morning while being sleep deprived, i don't know what this is, nor do i want to ask my past self, enjoy it though

A bright day with an even brighter sun was above Sector 05, shining brightly above the residents of the busy city neighboring Parabellum.

Yulil took a deep breath as he passed through the iron gates of the central park in the city, between his lips an almost done cigarette that he took the last puff from, before grabbing it and flicking it away with his thumb and middle finger, his other hand grabbing his head from the sheer headache that he was submitted to

"I need to chill down for a bit" He muttered to himself, taking a deep breath through gritted teeth before he eased his body and walked deeper into the park.

Step after step, he couldn't help but notice how many parents were out with their children today, some just enjoying their peaceful walk, some having a good ol' game of tag, while others relaxing with a familial picnic in the middle of green grass.

Yulil's steps slowly started gradually slowing down as his gaze shifted from family to another, their laughter echoing inside his skull and the scene of parents having fun with their sons and daughters was the only thing his eyes could see, until finally...

"Commander?" the sheer familiarity of the voice that was behind Yulil immediately made him snap out of his frozen state, raising an eyebrow as his body turned around to face where the voice came from

Finding a bench used by a child that had a baseball cap worn backward, tacky jeans and a hoodie with a skull logo, but what caught his eyes wasn't him, but the person beside him

"Springfield?" Yulil asked out loud as he noticed her sitting next to the child, giving him a warm smile that he'd always expect to be on her face

"It's a pleasure to see you Commander, especially out of duty" She responded, patting the left side of the bench gently

"It's been a long time since we talked, how about we catch up?" It was already hard for Yulil to refuse her invitation with the smile she gave him, he didn't have much of a choice and so with a scoff, he replied

"And I was wishing for company" He said while dropping down his body like a log on top of the bench, Springfield snickered and cocked her head to the side in curiosity

"Aren't we exhausted~?" Her rhetorical question made him let out a groan and exhale audibly enough for her to hear which prompted her to let out a chuckle

"Oh right, who's the kid?" He finally asked what he had on his mind, giving the child next to Springfield a wave of the hand and a smile

"This little brave boy's name is Jason" She said with a warm smile

"He stepped in when a group of naughty children were throwing rocks at a kitten" She put her hand on his head ruffling his hair

"H-hey! I'm not a little boy!" He exclaimed loudly while resisting Springfield's affection and putting her hand away, only making Springfield be more forceful and rougher with her pats

The scene made Yulil smile as he kept staring at the both of them

"But that aside, I'm being his guardian until his mother come pick him up, she's a good friend of mine" Springfield added, slowly shifting her look from Jason to Yulil, finding his eyes aimlessly staring at the duo

"Oh! uh, that's good to hear" Yulil replied, giving her a smile as he cleared his throat and looked away, Springfield raised her eyebrows in curiosity, tilting her head to the side to attract his attention
