Masiti realizes that he can't make a perfect clone of Jeremy without the original. So, putting his plan into action, Masiti unleashes an army of clone balls (which are a reference to the Mewtwo clone balls from Pokémon The First Movie) to capture Jeremy and begin his cloning scheme.

Chapter 1: What I really need

"Masiti, it's not working," Cashew said to his partner, Masiti. They were inside the laboratory, trying to extract DNA from a feather that Masiti plucked out of Jeremy. "Impossible!" said Masiti. "The funnel needs to identify it first." Cashew had dropped the feather in the giant funnel analyzer earlier, but it was taking a while for it to identify.

Then he heard a computer's voice. "Analysis identified," it said. "The white feather belongs to Jeremy Addison. A young, frail and traumatized ostrich, with the stereotypical sub culture of a hipster." "I'm trying to make a clone of Jeremy," Masiti said to the computer. " A better Jeremy with no flaws. A real fighting machine." "In order to make a perfect Jeremy clone, he must be captured in a clone ball," said the computer. "The clone ball will then be transported in a cloning machine, where mechanical arms will be attached to the clone ball and extract DNA from him. And after that process, the clone will be sent to a clone tank and will later emerge."

"What about your failed experiments?" asked Cashew. "I will continue to splice up monsters," said Masiti. "But that clone will finally be my success. You were successful when you revived the dinosaurs. Now it's my turn to finally have success! And it will all start with the Clone Ball."

"Don't you mean 'Capsule ball'?" asked Cashew. "They're called Clone Balls," said Masiti. Luckily, we have a whole surplus of them!" He picked up a clone ball that was occupying a box and showed it to Cashew. Cashew was horrified as he saw the clone balls. (They're very similar to Mewtwo's sinister clone balls from Pokémon The First Movie. Like the clone balls from Pokémon The First Movie, they are black and have an eye shaped object positioned directly in the center of the sphere. The difference is that there's no gray outline embedding the center, it's a red outline. There's no purple stripes either. Another difference is their eyes are closed when they're asleep or not activated.) "But they're so small," complained Cashew. "Are you really going to use that?"

"Of course I am!" snickered Masiti. "I'll have a superior clone of Jeremy, one that will be stronger than the original. We need him for that war against the Sergons. The original would get creamed out there! Too frail! I need a Jeremy with no flaws!"

"Masiti!" Cashew growled at his partner. "Aren't you forgetting that Jeremy has been through so much? You don't even worry about the kid! Have some respect!"

"I don't need to respect him!" hissed Masiti. "I'll have a better one! Now here's what's going to happen." He walked over to a large machine with a conveyor belt attached to it. "This is the machine the computer was talking about," he said to Cashew. "Let me introduce you to the Advanced Replication System. It's a more advanced cloning system that requires the original creation in order for it to succeed. No samples, it needs the original!" Cashew's ears drooped down as he saw the mechanical arms inside the machine, awakening.

"That bird will be mine!" cackled Masiti. Then he said to the clone balls; "Now go, my capsules of cloning! Bring me back Jeremy! You know what he looks like!" The clone balls awakened and began circling around the laboratory.

"Is the circling necessary? "Cashew asked Masiti. "Give them time," said Masiti. "The clone balls are preparing themselves! They'll be able to capture him! Their speed is as fast as an ostrich. Nothing can out speed them! If clone balls aren't enough, just wait and see my next plan. I'm still trying to fix the dragon serum balls."
