Melbourne, Australia – Monday the 2nd of January, 2018

Olive tucked her legs under her tall upper body and shifted around on the two-person couch for a bit longer before finding a more comfortable position.

Her little sister, Jenna, was in her room upstairs, sleeping in her crib while her older brother, Sam, was sitting next to her. He kept giving her annoyed sideways glances for moving around so much, to which she would just ignore. Their mother and father were sitting across from their children on a couch identical to theirs. Then, to Olive's right, her boyfriend of 3 years, Mason, sat in front of the fire that was currently dormant in the fireplace because the Melbourne heat never failed to make everyone sweat wherever they were.

The tension in the living room of the mansion was thick as blood. For the past hour, everyone around Olive had been discussing her future. The seventeen-year-old girl wasn't really listening to what they were talking about. She didn't need to – she knew that even if she didn't want to do whatever they decided, she'd still have to. Her parents, brother and boyfriend were discussing her future because of a stupid mistake she made. She got pregnant. Mason was the father and he was really happy about it – however, she didn't think he was cut out to be a father. But she couldn't tell him that; she didn't want to hurt him.

When she finally listened in, she realized that they were arguing over the decision to send her away or not. Why? Because her family are werewolves, as well as Mason's family, and hunters who seek to kill werewolves have been flooding into their home town. They have to keep on the down low, more so now than ever, and it was getting so much harder with every passing day. Her parents and Sam want to send her away because it's so dangerous now, especially for a pregnant wolf. But Mason is fighting against it, saying that she should stay and just not show her werewolf side in public – not that they ever did, but sometimes it was hard to control.

But Mason was being selfish. He did want Olive and his child to be safe, but he'd talked with his parents and they said no after he asked if he could go away with Olive for a while to protect her and his unborn child. Or at least that's what he wanted her to think.

"I want to leave," Olive muttered near to inaudibly, but loud enough to make everyone question what she'd said. "I think I should go, and never come back. It's not safe anymore," she had decided her fate, and her parents agreed with her. They got up and went into her fathers' office to book plane tickets for her and her little sister, as Jenna was only 16 months old and they didn't want her getting hurt either.

Sam wanted to go with them, but knew it'd be too suspicious if all the children of the Anderson family left. He decided he'd fly over to them in a couple of months to help. But until then he would stay with his parents and attempt to not kill Mason for getting his little sister pregnant.

Mason had a hurt expression on his face, and it hurt her, but she knew it was the right thing to do. "How could you?" he yelled at her, standing up. "Do you realize that you're taking my child away from me?"

She glared at him from her sitting position and brushed her short dirty blonde hair over her bare shoulder that her jumper was hanging off of. She remained as calm as she could. "Mase, it's not about you or me anymore, it's about this baby. We need to protect it, and if that means that I have to leave, then that's what I'll do," she said, her voice cracking at the end, unshed tears evident in her eyes.

He looked at her in disbelief, even though deep down, he knew that she was right. He was just too mad to admit it and he knew he was going to ruin their relationship for good. "Fine. Do whatever the hell you want! It doesn't matter to me anyway, because as of now, we are not together!" he growled at her and stormed out of her family's mansion.

She broke down in her brothers' arms and let out loud, sorrowful sobs that alerted Jenna who started crying in her crib. Olive got out of her brothers' grip and went to comfort her baby sister. She walked into the nursery and gently lifted Jenna out of the wooden crib. She held the baby girl to her chest and bounced lightly, letting the tears stream down her face, but also making soft sounds from her mouth to try and quiet Jenna's sobs.

Sam was standing in the doorway and thinking about how beautiful the image he was looking at was, but he was also furious at Mason, but couldn't do anything to him while Olive was still in the same country. He would wait until she was gone.
