Prompt: Can you make a prompt about Sloane and Thevan's relationship?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A little girl answered Thevan's knock on the door.
"Hi Thevan," she greeted.
"Where's your brother?" he asked, slipping into the little apartment and spotting him right away.
"Sloane fell asleep," Sadie said.
"No, Sloane didn't," Sloane said from the couch, where he was lying with his eyes closed. "I've been awake the whole time. I know you ate my chips."
Sadie scowled, but leaned in close to Thevan. "He was definitely asleep. I drank his soda a half hour before I ate his chips. Don't tell him."
"I think he's going to find out," Thevan informed him, and made his way to the couch.
He lifted Sloane's legs to make room for himself, then let Sloane throw his legs over Thevan's lap. Sadie wandered over to Sloane and shook his arm.
He swatted her away. "Go digest my chips somewhere else."
"I'm going to the park with Maria," Sadie said.
"Fine. Have her and her dad drop you off before it gets dark," Sloane said.
"Bye Sloane. Bye Thevan," she said, and scurried out the door.
Sloane finally opened his eyes. "If she's gone, we're gone. I don't want to hang around here."
"What, want to go prowling the streets with the others?" Thevan asked.
"The others can wait," Sloane said. "Let's go to your place."
"My sister and Griffin are at my place," Thevan said, resting his elbows on Sloane's legs. "Is your mom coming home soon?"
"Don't know, don't care. She never came home last night. Maybe she finally got arrested again." He closed his eyes again, turning his face towards the couch. "If you want to stick around here, you can entertain yourself. I'm tired."
Thevan traced a finger up Sloane's jeans. "I'm sure I can find a way to do that."
"What the hell," Sloane grumbled, shaking his leg until Thevan pulled his finger away. "I said I'm tired."
"And I'm bored," Thevan said. "If you don't want to stay here, then let's go do something. We can head back and finish our little art project on that building."
"What, in broad daylight? That's just asking to get picked up by the cops, and I've got to be back before my sister," Sloane said. He opened his eyes again and let out a huff. "Fine, we'll find something to do. Let me grab a drink first. I have a soda in the fridge."
Thevan pat his leg sympathetically. "Yea, you did have one in the fridge."
"Sadie," Sloane growled.
"Come on, I'll buy you another one down at the gas station. Two, so you can give her one and tell her to leave yours the hell alone," Thevan said.
Thevan saw the slightest twitch of Sloane's lips. With no responsible adult in their lives, he'd taken on the role of raising his little sister, and Thevan, who shared a close bond with his own sister, always tried his hardest to be kind to Sadie. He knew it meant a lot to Sloane.
