CHAPTER ONEYou could see her passion, while she was playing that song. Her eyes were closed, and her fingers were pressing the beautiful, shiny keys of her piano. She had so much self confidence, and she was so sure about every single move she made with her fingers. The way she moved her hands was magestic. That nice melody and that light smell of fresh tea was slowly hypnotizing me. I could stay there, and listen to that sweet melody forever.
I always relaxed when she played piano. This amazing feeling of harmony is bringing us together, when she plays it. This is just something I can't explain. I never figured out why music makes me feel alive. The only thing I know for sure, is that it has a magic energy that brings me and Chloe together.
"Did you like it, Max?" She asked me, while she was still touching the La key.
"Yes, I did." I said, and I slowly opened my eyes."That was beautiful"
"Thanks." She whispered, and took her cup of tea from the small table next us. She took a sip of her tea, and she swallowed it quickly.
"It's too hot." She said, and put it back on the table.
"I know." I whispered. She laughed a bit and started looking at her piano. The fact that there was not much left to say was being awkward.
"Have you sang lately?" She asked me curiously, trying to break the ice.
"Not a lot, actually." I answered, and raised my eyebrows.
"Why?"
"I was not in the mood, I guess." I said, and made eye contact with her. I always loved looking at her beautiful brown eyes. I've never told her, but she knows it. I bet she could see it from the way I looked at her, every time she talked to me. When I look into her eyes, it's like looking at the entire universe with its beautiful stars. I see my bestfriend and my soulmate in her eyes.
She can read my thoughts when she's looking into them. She always notices if something's wrong.
"Never mind. I'll get you in the mood, now!" She said, and gave me a big bright smile.
"I...just-"
Before I could even apologise, and say no, she had already started playing. She was pressing the keys lightly and slowly, while she was looking at me and trying to scan my eyes.
She started pressing them harder, and that melody was slowly becoming a real melody. I hadn't heard of it before, it was a new one. That kinda made me curious, because Chloe always played one specific melody when she was trying to make me sing.
"What's that melody you're playing?" I asked her surprised.
"I wrote it for you."She answered and giggled. "It's not just a melody...It's a song actually."
I glanced at her, and kept looking at her shocked "Really?"
I couldn't believe that she did something like that for me. It must have taken her a lot of time to write a piano song.
"Yes!" She said while she was still looking into my eyes. It looked like she was trying to tell me something.
"Haven't you heard about it?" She said spontaneuously, and stopped playing.
I raised my eyebrows and stopped breathing: "About what?"
There's a competition called 'The Young Artist' downtown, and it's on the 17th of June. It's our chance to get noticed!"
"What?" I shouted happily, and jumped off my chair. ''Oh my God, that's great!''
''Hey, but calm down.-'' She said and took a breath. Her mouth was ready to move, and tell me something.
