"You realize the drive is only an hour, right?" Brad laughs, looking at Magnolia's bag full of blankets and snacks.
"Brad, it is 6:30 in the morning. You don't need to be judging me right now."
"Sorry, sorry." he chuckles, turning out of her neighborhood.
"Is that what you're wearing?" she questions when she sees his joggers and t-shirt.
"I have a suit in the back. I didn't want to drive in it, especially with your messy ass sitting next to me."
"Mean," she huffs. "Can we stop at a gas station?"
"Why?"
"I have to pee and I want to get some pretzels."
"Why didn't you pee before you left the house?"
"I didn't have to go then!" she slumps in her seat. "Pleaseeee?"
He sighs in defeat. "If we're late, I'm not kissing you for a month."
"Deal. I don't want to kiss you, anyway. Boys are gross."
When they get to the gas station, Magnolia runs inside to pee while Brad buys her pretzels. She planned on buying them herself, but he didn't want to take anymore time.
"Oh, you didn't have to do that," she says, coming out of the bathroom.
"They're two dollar pretzels, Magnolia," he gives her the bag. "I think I can swing it."
"You're saying I can't?" she playfully shoves him as they walk to the car.
"I'm saying I want to be a loving boyfriend and buy the stupid pretzels for you."
About twenty minutes in, Magnolia was already asleep. The fact that the only music Brad was playing through the car speakers was classical definitely helped her fall asleep faster.
"Babe," Brad whispers, running his hand along her arm. "Wakey wakey."
"Hmm?"
"We're here and I need to go change."
With a yawn, Magnolia slides her rain boots back on and gets out of the car. After Brad took his bag and music out of the backseat, they went inside. The building was somewhat small and was filled with a lot of people. Way more than Magnolia anticipated.
She sat on a bench outside the restrooms while she waited for Brad to change. She was in the middle of texting her mom that they made it there safely when a random guy approached her. He had a shaved head and dark eyes. He definitely didn't give off a good vibe.
"Hey," he grins smugly. "You auditioning?"
"Uh, no—"
"No? Someone just left a girl as hot as you alone?"
