There are endless possibilities that occur each second in this world. Each choice we make, every move, every word, every step holds a possibility to different outcomes. We take a risk every new day the moment we wake up to the sun shining in our tired eyes. We guide ourselves taking 50/50 chances of what may or may not happen.
There is nothing in the world that prepared me for the day my life completely turned around.
All the possibilities in the world and not once did I ever consider that I would be moving into the notorious big apple, New York City, for an upcoming blockbuster.

It was the movie I was expected to star in.
I was at my grandparents' house, sharing a warm cafecito when my manager, Sandra, had called to inform me that one of the most respected and praised producers requested for me to cast for the main role. My grandparents' were ecstatic meanwhile I was still processing the conversation.
I was shocked but honored and delighted.
What only started off as desperation for money, quickly turned into something unexpected.
I was working day and night the moment I graduated high school, helping to provide currency for my family. It was a late night, the moon was full and stars glistened the gravel road. I had just finished my graveyard shift at the diner, ready to head home while I waited for the city bus.
It was when I noticed on the information pole was a white sheet of paper with bold red letters asking for an extra to star in a low-budget show. It offered a paying quantity of a high amount. Regardless of how sketchy it seemed, I was in desperate need of the money.
I was willing to take the extent to help my family.
The next early afternoon, I arrived at the local theatre where the auditions were being held. There was a fair amount of people, holding the same documents each individual was required to bring unless to participate. I felt anxious, I didn't have any experience nor knowledge of what was expected but I was willing to give it my best shot.
Sandra was scouting that day for individuals with potential, as she claimed, to help make it into the bigshot world. She claimed she was impressed with my audition when I was asked to act out a scene, she said she could see I was full of potential that the world must-see.
"You know, kid, you have it all. The energy, the confidence, the creativity, the ability to- you get where I'm going with this. Look, you have exactly what I'm looking for, exactly what this industry needs. I have a couple of gigs I can offer you, I can help you make it big. That is, of course, if you're up for it?" Sandra said with beaming eyes as she strutted around me, boring her eyes into my soul.
I thankfully took the offer. My main concern was never to 'make it big ', my main concern was the financial stability I would be able to provide for my parents back home and my family in California.
Mama always told me there is a light at the end of the tunnel that will guide us to the end of our sorrows and the new beginning of happiness.
I like to think of Sandra as the light that helped me and my family.
The gigs became frequent with bigger pays. I always split the check- half to my parents, half to my grandparents and siblings, whatever was left I would store into my savings account.
"Mija, this is wonderful! Ay, my granddaughter is a movie star." My abuela said, ecstatically as she reached for her phone, running off to the back porch.
