Chapter 6
Not editedThere was a long pause before he answered on the othere line.
"Sure. I'm on my way now"
"See you when you get here" I said relieved that he was coming over. I was nervous at the big decision I was about to make. We exchanged our goodbyes and hung up the phone.
I sat down on the flood trying to think over what it is I'm going to do. I am lost in deep thought when I hear a knock at the door. I got up off the floor making my way to open the door. Pulling back the door, revealed Zayn's handsome face. I moved aside so he could enter my apartment. I closed the door after he entered locking it to its previous state.
When Zayn came in he observed his surroundings. He seemed as if he was inspecting my place. He walked around hands behind his back. He turned to face me staring at me. Under his gaze, my body seemed to crumble. I didn't want to show him how much her impacted by heart rate.
"Are you ok" he said breaking the silence.
"Yea I'm fine I just wanted to talk"
"About..." He said teasingly.
My words were jumbled. I didn't know how to say the words. I wasnt always a forward person. It takes a lot for me to be extremely explicit about my thoughts.
"How was your day" I said veering away the statement I wanted to say.
"It was fine. I mostly slept in because I had a terrible hang over from yesterday. What about you" he said taking a seat at my island.
I followed sitting next to him. "It waa boring and tiring."
"Why is that"
"I went out looking for a job. I had no luck what so ever. It seemed like every where I went. They avoided me like the plague."
Zayn laughed a little. "What kinds of positions did you look at." He said looking me in my eyes.
I broke away from his gaze and looked down at my fingers. "I looked a waitressing, customer service, and bartending."
"And they would hire you they must be crazy unless you were a terrible waitress at Claw."
I smiled "I was a great waitress, we just didn't get enough business."
"If Claw was still up and running would bring so much business you would be exhausted from waiting tables. I have connections and people seem to listen to my word."
"Do know anyone hiring?" Joy spead through me.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"You just did." I joked.
"You know what I mean" Zayn laughed.
"I know. Go ahead"
"What was your dream job growing up" he said arduousness lacing his tone.
"Um.. I was always jumping from one idea to the next" i said honestly.
"What were some of your hobbies?"
"I did ballet for a while when I was younger."
"Why didn't you pursue it" he said.
"Mostly because It didn't seem to be going anywhere or the best career choice. My parents pushed me to be a doctor because they said that's where the money was. But that wasn't going to maks me happy." He listened to me intensely.
"What makes you happy?"
"Wait let me ask you some questions."
"Fine" he said smiling.
