Lee.

The rest of the week turned out to be as uneventful as can be. I went to work, went to the gym, went home and did it all in repeat again.
I basically haven't heard from Hunter, we talked on the phone once a few days ago but that was it.

It's now Friday night and I'm sitting in my office with James on the floor scrolling through his phone. I know he was hoping we'd play before Deck Underground opens for the night but I just don't have it in me.
I feel like an emotionless robot; walking, talking but doing so without thought or feeling.

A knock on my door brings me out of my hypnotic-like trance. I look at James and tilt my head towards the door, letting him know I want him to open it.

Soon Hunter steps into the room and his smile wipes away the memories of the week. The loneliness I've gotten accustomed to tries to cling to me but green eyes banish the feeling.
He stops just inside my office, a bottle of whiskey too expensive to serve at most bars in his right hand, a box of my favorite chocolate donuts in his left.

Hunter smiles sheepishly at me. "Lee," his smile widens.

This man will be the death of me, I think as I smile back and make my way towards him.
My arms wrap around him, his nose automatically finding its spot where my neck and shoulder meet. I feel him breathing me in and squeeze harder.

Suddenly, all is right in the world again.

Nothing would make me happier than staying here forever, holding my forever. Hunter eventually pulls back and his head turns to James.
I curse silently and face my sub as well. Making a mental note to apologize to him in private, the look on his face tells me I have nothing to be sorry for.

James bows his head slightly, silently asking if we are done for the day.
Squeezing Hunter's shoulder, I make my way to my submissive and lead him to the door, my hand on his back.

"Sir, may I please go hang out with the boys downstairs? I will stay close to Ron and the bodyguards of course." James asks hopefully.

I smile and nod before adjusting his shirt and patting his butt as a goodnight. "Be smart," I call after him before watching him walk away.

As I turn around, Hunter has placed both the whiskey and the donuts on my desk and has made himself comfortable on the couch nearby.

I grab two glasses, pour some whiskey in both and hand him his as I sit down next to him. Our thighs a hair length away from touching.

"Lee," Hunter starts. "Lee I'm so sorry I haven't been the best friend this week. I've just been so confused about everything. And I know it's not an excuse for being a shitty friend but I just needed some time to figure things out."

I turn to him and shake my head.

"Did it help?"

He looks back at me, confused.

I try again. "Did you figure things out?"

Hunter's mouth opens only to close again. His eyes flick down to my lips. It was only for a second, yet a second was enough for my heart to match the Hunter-is-here pace it knows so well.

"I think so," he finally gets out.

We stare at each other, our breathing in sync. Hunter leans forward, stops seconds before making my dreams come true. He swallows, I swallow.

"Sir?" he whispers.

A 'Sir' from Hunter is everything I've ever needed and anything I will ever need again, I realize as I latch myself onto him and connect our lips.
