Cities are places where tourists and other foreigners arrive and as such should always be kept clean. Often, we see how our cities are cleaned when other foreign state personalities arrived. This is because we knew they were coming that's why  we prepared for their visit. The question is 'what if they had come without informing us.... What would we have done ?' We would have been totally disgraced because of all the filth filled to the brim of the gutters in the cities. It is of this view that I write that our cities, communities and even our villages should be kept clean always.
Often better than not, we see citizens throwing refuse of their homes into gutters, we see pedestrians and passengers throw rubbish anyhow not to talk of drivers who throw rubbish anyhow down from their vehicles. What do you think will happen when the wind blows and gathers all this thrash into the gutters? This will of course result in serious flooding as we have been witnessing off late and it will destroy properties and even claim lives of citizens when it rains.
In the light if this, I would like to suggest the following measures to the country development committee to help improve the sanitation if the country.
First and foremost, there is the need for the government to liaise with the various District Assemblies to ensure that toilet facilities are adequately provide for the people, since it appears most residents do not have the facilities in their various homes.
Secondly, the issue of poor drainage has to be looked into once again by the government. There is the need for more gutters to be constructed along the major roads and streets  to direct flood water to its proper destination and also check the perennial problem of flooding which hit the country especially in Accra the city of Ghana during occasional heavy downpours.
Thirdly, as citizens of the country each community should organize communal labour to clean our communities, dispose rubbish wisely and also bins should be put by the road side to enable passengers and pedestrians dispose off their rubbish. This will  help keep the country clean and avoid diseases and reduce the risk of natural disasters like flood.
It is my fervent hope that we all join the crusade in making our country clean and a better place to live. Long live Ghana! Long life the citizens of the country!!
Thank you.
Please if you are a Ghanaian reading this please take mg suggestions into consideration
I was inspired to do this work by the bountiful support from my sweet daddy.
