I watched as the snowflakes fluttered to the ground. My breath disappearing into the foggy air. It was the first day of winter, and mother nature wanted everyone to know. I glanced behind me to see someone approaching the bus stop. Madison, I believe her name was. She waved slightly and I did my best not to scoff when i saw her in a short skirt and heels shivering. I stared down at my skinny jeans, Panic! At The Disco hoodie, and converse.
We weren't always so distant, there was a time when we were friends. But that was long in the past. She was about to say something when the bus pulled around the corner. She pushed her lips back together tightly as if she was worried someone would see us talking. That's okay, I wouldn't want to be seen talking with her either. The bus slid to a stop on the ice and pulled open the door. I stepped in and stared down the aisle. There were 2 empty seats, and a spot next to Gassy Gloria, which you can probably guess how she got her name. I quickly sat down in seat number 7. I stared out the window watching the beaten forest pass by. A light mumble of voices surrounded me, people having there normal daily conversations. I zoned out deep in though in what it would be like to be a "regular person" I let my mind slip away.
"Jo. Jo. Josephine!"
I cracked my eyes open to see the bus driver.
"Get off the bus!" She screamed.
I looked around to see the bus completely empty. I jumped up and ran down the aisle.
"Thanks" I said lamely and hopped into the brisk air.
The school grounds were empty. Great I'm going to be late, again.
