"Decided to come to class Ms. Teran?" Mr. Elliot's dark eyes stared past me, maybe straight into my soul as the whole class giggled.

"Sorry." I began to make my way to the back of the classroom.

"No need to apologize. Some of us just want our education more than others."

I rolled my eyes Mr. Elliot and his smart remarks. I plopped into a seat and tried to listen to his dreary lectures. Something or other about punctuality. I looked into my notebook, and suddenly remembered the vivid dream I had last night.

I was making eye contact with a dead man. His lifeless eyes were rolled into the back of his head. I didn't know how to react, I just stood there, then turned around and ran. A flash of guilt passed over me. But my feet kept pounding away, the forest flashing by at the speed of light. Then I heard a voice, "You have to be more careful. Control yourself." I wanted to ask who are you, what's going on, where am I? But something kept me quiet. Some unknown force kept a clamp on my curiosity.

Class went by quickly. I wasn't acknowledged again, just the way I liked it. I was hidden, safer. The bell rang and I scrambled to grab my things and leave before I could get another lecture.
"Not so fast Ms. Teran, I dismiss you not the bell."
" Haven't heard that one before." I muttered under my breath.
I heard a chuckle come from beside me. I turned to my left to see a boy with soft green eyes and brown hair geled up in the front.
"You all may leave, and you can thank Josephine for causing you to be late." Right because 30 seconds is going to drastically change our lives. I followed my feet into the hall way and started to skim through the songs on my iPod.
"Do you like getting in trouble?"
"What?" I turned to see the same kid from class who laughed at my remark.
"If you just showed up on time and kept your mouth shut you wouldn't get in trouble, so I was just wondering do you enjoy getting in trouble?"
It sounded like an insult, but the way he said it was so gentle and calm I couldn't tell.
"Why do you care?"
