"What do you mean?" Albert asked, as Radiant closed the door. Benevolent began to lead them swiftly down into the lab. "There are reasons we have gotten corrupted in the first place" The operative flicked on emergency switches to reveal the lab. Colorful and dull fluids were seen on different tables interacting with each other. Albert flinched as he noticed Trauma sitting in the corner hugging it's knees. He looked away as the creature shuffled. "These experiments have almost led our people and our community into the fall of the night operatives. The lines have been blurred, who is really the bad guy here?" Benevolent moved beakers around and checked their contents. "We would have never had a war, or endangered ourselves if we knew when to stop our experimentation" A sorrowful look ghosted Benevolent face as he turned back to the two. "I've watched too many people be killed in the last few days and too many operatives slaughtered without cause" Benevolent went over to a wooden polished case sitting on a lab table and pulled out the body of a tommy gun, setting it up. Albert nervously eyed Radiant who seemed to be deep in thought. Benevolent saw the lights flicker as he strapped the tommy gun to himself. "Great Day will be showing no mercy to his people". Albert watched as Benevolent grabbed some supplies, handing the male a backpack. "You're going to need this as well" Benevolent spoke as he handed the male a gun. The operative passed ammo to radiant day, who took it without hesitation. "We need to keep moving, Placid will be waiting for us in the Asylum" The operative explained, "There we can re-group but right now we need to get away from the city" A loud rumble and a low boom from above made the tunnels rattle as the sound drifted downwards. "Ah sht" Benevolent muttered beneath his breath as he finished grabbing what he needed. "We need to leave. Now." Albert found himself taking Radiant's hands trying not to focus on his racing heartbeat as Radiant squeezed his hand in return pulling him closer. Benevolent tapped Trauma, spooking the creature and making him stand up. "We can drive through the tunnels to get to the Asylum" Benevolent told the both of them, turning off the lab lights and bolting the door shut as everyone left the room. He turned off the emergency lights, using a flashlight to guide them to his vehicle. Another loud rumble echoef through the tunnels as they got to Benevolent's jeep. Trauma climbed into the very back and curled up. "I'm going to need you up front Radiant" Benevolent commanded giving the operative a gentle pat on his shoulder. Albert turned to Radiant who only gave a reassuring nod as he hesitantly let go of Albert's hand. The male climbed into the back as the two operatives hopped into the front. Albert didn't notice Benevolent had started up the car due to it being so quiet. "We will be driving without headlights" Benevolent stated as he started to drive down the long pitch black tunnel. Albert was thankful the operative wasn't moving slow. He felt something hit his knee though which made him jump. "I'm sorry" Radiant chirped sadly, "I was trying to reach for your hand" "It's okay, my hand is on my right knee, you touched my left" Albert replied as he felt his face heat up in the dark as Radiant slid his hand over his right knee. The two connected hands and Albert felt himself moving to sit behind Radiant. The male laid his head against the back of Radiant's seat. Benevolent chuckled to himself as Radiant elbowed him. The operative turned down the tunnel and mentally prepared himself for a long drive.
