Everything has been set for my grand day. The venue, caterer, sound system. The invitations were in the printing stage. My Kuya Karlo and Kuya Kevin sponsored my two gowns that I'll be using. I can't seem to contain my excitement that 2 months from now.. I'll be entering adulthood.
Then the news came about the new virus that killed thousands of lives in China. Covid 19. I really don't know but after hearing the news on tv, my heartbeat begun to beat faster than usual. I can feel my body trembling for no reason at all. And suddenly, tears began to fall in my eyes.
"Kaye, are you OK? What's happening? Are you sick? And why are you crying?" I can hear my Mom's voice but I can't seem to understand every word that she's saying.
I can't even understand what I'm feeling at the moment. And then I fainted. I woke up laying in my bed with my family all by my bedside.
"Kaye, what's wrong? After watching the news, you acted strange and then fainted." I can see Mom's worried face as she utters those words.
"I'm OK. I really don't know what went wrong. After hearing the news about that new virus that hit Wuhan, China.. I started to feel chills and honestly I'm really scared." I said while tears keeps on rolling down my cheeks.
My mom hugged me tight. "Don't be scared my princess. We're here to protect you from any harm."
"I just want to be by your side. Please don't leave me alone all of you." Hugging my parents and kuyas one by one.
"What are you saying Kaye? We will never leave you. We'll always be together no matter the circumstances maybe until our hair turns grey" Kuya Kian said and our signiture group hug that would calm me down.
"I love you all!" I told them repeatedly.
"We love you more our princess!" They said in chorus.
