These boys we very tall, by that I mean the guy with the black hair. Wait he looks familiar. The one next to him was almost my height but just a little bit taller. He kinda looked like a tangerine.
"Konichiwa, coach Ukai," they said in unison. He left my table to go to the cash register.
"Hey, what are you doing here? Practice doesn't start until 2 hours from now," practice? what practice?
"We know. Just wanted to grab some meat buns to get our energy UP!," Ukai shook his head.
"I can't give you any. You need some protein NOT MEAT BUNS!" he said while scratching his head. The guy with the black hair looked deep in thought.
"Doesn't protein consist of meat?" he said looking up. Coach Ukai gave them a death glare, which cause a drip of sweat to come out of both the guys.
"Want me to say it again, You CAN'T HAVE-"
"Well, yes it does, but its not healthy to eat it before practice. Especially since the bun consists of bread which is also carbs. It can slow down your metabolism when you practice, making you not be able to move as fast as you want to," I said in a monotone voice. There gaze shifted to me.
"What I'm just stating the obvious here," The 2 boys raised a brow. The one in the black hair crossed his arms at me.
"So, what do you suppose we eat then?" I made a hand gesture for them to follow me to the back of the store. Surely enough they did. Like little puppies. I grabbed 2 birthday cake protein bars from my secret supply box. I keep snacks and drinks in here to take as inventory home. I handed them each one in both my hands.
"These help me build energy for when I workout. I promise there will be meat buns waiting for you when you come back after practice," I said with a slight smile. As they kept staring at me, there face started to tint a slight shade of pink.
"Hello?" I said waving the bars in their faces. They shook there heads vigorously up and down as they grabbed the bars.
"T-Thank you," the orange haired boy said. The one in black nodded as a sign of thanks.
"Yeah no problem." I said.
"So, we best be going. We need to start getting to pepper a little bit before practice. To, ya know, warm u-," he stopped his sentence as he bumps into the the table where the tower of pocky I organized. It all came crashing down all on the floor. His face fused bright red as he started to pick up the boxes panickedly.
"HINATA BOKE!" I hear the black haired boy say.So that's his name. I start picking up the boxes with them.
"No, it's ok. I can clean up, you guys should get going." They all stood up and bowed.
"Sorry." They said in unison as they walked out. Uncle Keishin found me and started helping me pick up the rest of them.
"So, who were those guys and how do you know them? I only caught the orange-haired guys name: hinata." he sighed as he stood up plopping them on the counter.
"Those were my first years: kageyama and hinata. They went to different middle schools and were rivals until they coincidentally applied for the same school: Karasuno. So, they are teammates."
"So, how do yo know that?" I said. He ran his hands through his hair as he sighed.
"I coach for their team," he said. My heart stopped. This gotta be some sort of joke.
"you're kidding...right?" I said staring at him.
"No, I'm not." My eyes lit up.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" my heart started to beat faster and faster it was gonna pop.
"Can I join your team?" I said.
