hi everyone! i'm mitsuki, one of the two recommenders of #projectasiangirls, along with Tessa, who was
introduced in the previous chapter.

a little bit about me :

i'm a thirteen year old japanese
girl with an obsession with pastries and colourful stationery. i've been dancing classical ballet since I was three, and now compete in numerous dance competitions. introverted and slow to open up.

why #projectasiangirls?

living in a small rural town
for most of my life, i was mostly unfamiliar to the concept of me being discriminated against for being asian. However, ever since i moved to a larger city with a greater population of non-asians, i started noticing subtle digs and that were made against me
for being well, asian. i became acutely aware of it while i was on travelling with my family this summer. for the first time in my life, people were telling me that having black hair and small eyes might be detrimental to my career. apparently, being asian
made me lesser than a caucasian. now, especially with the recent outbreak of covid-19, i have to deal with countless of insults and derogatory comments being lobbed at me from all angles.

i joined #projectasianirls
so i could stand proudly for who i am, and to empower other asian girls, whether eastern, southeastern, central, southwestern, or northern. (whoo, that was a mouthful). i want to prove to the world that asian girls are just as worthy as caucasian girls.

this is why i chose #projectasiangirls.
