The Move

The new house surely looked better than the old one, I'm quite shocked that we really escaped from our old place.

I'm hoping that I will never see that place again, I hope that he won't find us.

~flashback~

"YOU CHEATED ON ME, DID YOU REYA!? AND WITH THAT IMBECILE!?" My father shook my mom roughly, I was listening right by the hallway. Occassionally peeking, hoping I won't be caught eavesdropping.

"I DID NOT PAUL! WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT I WAS!? I CAN NEVER! I LOVE YOU AND ONLY YOU!" My mother yelled right back at him, she was shaking and crying.

" YOU LOVE ME?! SURE YOU DO, THEN EXPLAIN THIS!" He let go of her only to throw a letter at her. She backed up from my father, who looked like he was about to kill. If looks could kill, that would be it. My mother threw the letter at him.

"That letter isn't for me, it doesn't explain on who this was directed to." She said calmly, she placed the letter on the kitchen table.

"Funny you say that, Reya" He said her name with disgust. "It says here that he will come back for his LOVER and DAUGHTER. If you happen to notice, YOU TWO are the only ones here! My sister doesn't have kids now does she? You're the only female with a kid. You're gonna pay greatly."

~End of flashback~

At the end of that statement, he completed his word. He made our lives a living hell, that man didn't think I was his daughter.

My mother was treated like trash for something she didn't do, I know her far too well. She isn't someone who fools around. Despite the many horrible punishments, we held on to hope to escape one day.

That hope came to us as one of the servants of the house helped us escape without anyone suspecting, I'm grateful.

...

"Mija, do you like this place?" My mom asked with a soft smile. I nodded with a smile "As long as we have a roof on top of our heads, I'm okay with it!" My mother sighed in relief.

Ever since we left that dreadful place, my mom got major support from her friends and family. They helped us get a place of our own, she even got a new job! We owe them a lot, we were in debt to them.

"Mom? Can I go inside and explore the house a bit?" I asked with a hint of curiosity.

"Yes dear, go and explore! I'm gonna help these gentleman with our stuff and furniture. Be careful okay?" She patted my head and walked off.

Alright time to see what this house is made of! I ran inside, from what I can tell, it's a bit smaller. But this works!

I then checked out all the other rooms, on the first floor. Pretty cool, laundry room, kitchen, bathroom and living room.

Onto the second floor! I ran upstairs, observing my new surroundings. I walked into a new room, it was big space. It appeared to have a walk in closet, as well as a bathroom. NEAT!

I left the room and walked to the other one across the hall. It looked more bigger than the previous room, I decided to choose the other room and give this room to my ma.

I walked out from the room, headed to the last door. I gasped, it lead to a balcony!!

The backyard was absolutely stunning, looked like it was being taken care of well.

"MIJA TIME TO UNPACK" Mom yelled from down the hall.

~8 hours later~ 

"Finally at long last!!!!!" I flopped onto my now made bed, hallelujah! I'm finally done!!!

"Geez how long have I been in here?" I checked my phone, 9:00pm?

Great, I can explore around the neighborhood for a bit. Let's get to know it!

"Mom! I'll be back, I'm gonna explore around. I won't be far!" I shouted jumping off the last steps of stairs.

"Y/N! Be careful!" She shouted, I was already out the door.

"Great, some me time" I walked off, it was a calm warm night. The peace and quiet gives me goosebumps but i never mind it. Night time is attractive in all aspects, darkness in general.

I walked around the corner only to see a park nearby, another location that I'll surely visit frequently.

"Alright, time to reflect and relax" I mumbled to myself, walking towards the entrance. Before I knew it, I'm in.

I looked around only to find it pretty beautiful, no people, all quiet. Just my kind of party.

I glanced over to my right only to see steps leading to what appeared to be a bridge. A smile grew on my face, I headed to that direction.

"Not bad" walking up the steps, I was amazed to see the beautiful scenery. The reflection of the moon in the pond. It made my heart skip a beat.

I sighed staring at the moon before I realized it, I began to sing...

I ended up checking my phone to check what time it was.
"HOLY CRAP! HOW IS IT ALMOST 10PM!?"

I decided to make a run for it.

Third pov:

  While Y/N sang her heart out, Gene listened from underneath the bridge. Although he found people singing practically annoying, he couldn't help but love that angelic voice.

He tried to see who that mysterious person was but because of how dark it was. He couldn't.

" her voice..." he whispered to himself, he then shut his mouth once the mysterious person stopped singing.

"HOLY CRAP! HOW IS IT ALMOST 10PM!?" the mysterious person shouted, Gene heard running footsteps. He came out from his hiding spot and walked to where that person sang.

"Your voice was so angelic, but why did you sound so sad?" He thought to himself. He then mentally slapped himself.

"Why should I care about that person? They're not worth anything" Gene mumbled.

And just like that he wandered off into the night..
