The Vanished Race (Leo's Chronicles 1)

Stars appeared brightly in the night's sky along with a half-moon. A girl of thirteen years scurried across the streets of Pinewood, California. Her guardian had told her not to go out alone especially at night. But her boyfriend had called her, saying he was in the woods and needed to see her urgently, the teenage girl had thought of nothing else but finding a way to sneak out of her house unseen.

She got to the woods in the location they usually meet. She gazed around trying to find him. Something that felt like a drop of water above her head. She touched where the drop had landed and her fingertips were immediately covered in blood. She glanced up and in horror, saw the body of her boyfriend hanged up in a tree with blood dripping down his face.

They've finally found her, it was a trap to lure her into the woods alone. She made to run, but something had hit her in the back of her neck, and fell to the ground. A Shiny gold sword was raised up, ready to suck the life out of her. The wielder of the weapon let out a wicked grin and let the sword sink deeply in the girl's chest. And then darkness came into her world.
