Chapter 1: We're back!

5 years after where The Heirs ended off---

Eun-sang POV:

It's been 6 months since I saw Tan... And today is the day we've been waiting for. 

After we graduated from Jeguk High School, Tan and I, and our friends all went to different Universities. Tan went back to LA. He went to the University of Southern California, Young-do went to Seoul National University, Chan-young went to Caltech in the States, Bo-na went to Yonsei University, and thanks to Jeguk Group, I got a scholarship to Sungkyunkwan University. I heard Rachel went to Princeton University. Hyo-shin Sunbae-nim ended his military service and went to NYU for filmmaking. Oh, how could I forget Myungsoo; he went to Cheongju University. We're so happy he finally entered college after trying again and again. 

Today is the day Tan is moving back to Seoul. Chan-young finished his final semester and returned to Seoul last week. Sometimes I still find it unbelievable that Bo-na could have been apart with Chan-young for such a long time. Now Chan-young is back in her arms and she's all smiles again. This week, I'll be grinning from ear to ear as well because Tan is coming back. Chan-young, Bo-na, Young-do, Tan, and I, we're all done with college now. But then comes the next phase of life for the guys. To fulfill the duties of a Korean man, the boys are about to enter military service. Tan and Chan-young will be enlisting as conscripted policemen while Young-do will be enlisting as an active-duty soldier, entering an Army Recruit Training Center. Nonetheless, at least Tan and Chan-young will be in South Korea so Bo-na and I can visit them from time to time. Also, in the meantime, Bo-na and I will be entering the workforce. Bo-na will join her family's Mega Entertainment and for me, this is where things start to get a little awkward but I decided to join Zeus Hotel Group. I start work at Zeus Hotel Group next month as the Vice President's secretary. Won Oppa has been so kind and offered me a job at Jeguk Group but I was afraid things might complicate if I work at Jeguk Group which is why I kindly declined Won Oppa's offer. The next, best, and most attractive offer I've gotten so far was from Zeus Hotel Group. I've checked multiple times with the Human Resource Department at Zeus Hotel Group if the offer had anything to do with Young-do but apparently, Young-do doesn't even know anything about me joining his company. I took on the job because it pays well and I will definitely do my very best regardless of whatever reason I got the job.   

In other news, I've also finally saved up enough to get my driving license! Hyo-shin sunbaenim was kind enough to loan me his car so I could drive to Incheon Airport to surprise and pick up Tan. Samo-nim and I  planned a small and intimate homecoming party this evening to welcome Tan back. All our friends, Tan's family, Won Oppa and his wife, my Mom, and even Chan-young's dad will be coming. Oh and my mom doesn't work at Tan's home anymore. My sister found a managerial job at a restaurant in Koreatown LA so she sends back money for my Mom from time to time. My Mom found a part-time position at an eatery near our home. Her Boss is kind and because it's part-time, it's not tiring for my Mom too. I can't wait to start work so my mom can finally retire.

Tan's POV:

Finally! I'm finally back in Seoul! Although I've lived in LA in my teenage years, Seoul is the best. Seoul is where my family is, where I need to be, and most importantly, Seoul is where she's at. She's my home. My Mom and Eun-sang-ie apparently planned a surprise homecoming party for me tonight that Myungsoo accidentally told me about it when he drunk dialed me the other night. So with the help of Myung-soo and Hyo-shin sunbaenim, I planned a surprise for Eun-sang too. The thought of being with Eun-sang excites me. Everything's better with her. All the time away from Eun-sang killed me so I'm glad I'm finally back. I never want to be apart from her again. Today is the day I get to hold her in my arms again; and today I'll ask her if I can hold her in my arms, for life.
