After my failed attempt at escaping, she chained me up to a wall, and continued our conversation

"Is that true?" asked Louise, looking at me with an expression of disbelief

I explained to her I'm from a different world, and how I ended up here

"How many times have I retold this story for you to still not believe me?!" I responded

I had never felt the slightest bit resentful of my curiosity until today.

"I can't believe it," Louise said

"Look, neither can I."

[I mean magic only existed in fictional books and such!]

"By another world, what do you mean?" She asked.

"A world where there aren't any magicians, there's only one moon. Oh, and more importantly there's the internet,"

"There's such a world like that?"

"Yes, it's where I came from!" I yelled.

"Don't yell at me, you commoner." She said in displeasure.

"Who are you calling a commoner?!" I yelled back

"Well, you're not a mage, right? So you're a commoner."

"So what if I can't use magic!" I yelled even louder.

"You really know nothing about the world,"

"As I've been telling you all this time, I'm not from this one!" I yelled with irritation.

"Are you really from another world?" asked Louise, seemingly still perplexed

"Yes, I am. That's what I have been saying for the last hour!"

"Show me some proof." She said.

[Oh, shit. What do I show her, ... wait, I got it]

Reaching into my pocket I take out my smartphone

"What's that?" She asked.

"It's a smartphone!" I replied.

"I've certainly seen nothing like this. What kind of magic artifact is it?" She said examining the object.

"Well, to the eyes of someone like yourself this may seem to be something like a rare magical artifact, but to me this is your common smartphone," I said with a smug look

That statement probably made her mad as she slapped my forehead

"What element of magic does it use? Wind? Water?" She asked.

" It's science," I said bluntly

Louise stared blankly at me

[She doesn't get it, does she?]

"So, what kind of element is this 'science'? Is it different from the four elemental powers?" She then asked.

"Science isn't magic, science is the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical world through observation and experiment," I explained

Louise sat on the edge of her bed and dangled her feet. Then, shrugging, she said with a dispassionate look,

"Hmm. But I don't really understand it..."

"Well, we live in two different worlds, yours working on magic, while mine works on science," I said while shrugging

"Look, just believe me already. That I'm from a different world," I said, putting my phone away.
