The next few days were spent packing.. and packing.. and packing. I never realized how much shit I had until I had to decide what to take and what to leave. I also had to pack all of Cody's things. It was kind of sad having to make him choose what he could bring, he'd be parting ways with a lot of his favorite material possesions, he was a little upset about it, so I promised him that dad would have lots of toys for him to play with to lift his spirits. I really didn't know if he would or not.... What if  he was just another drug addict? A pervert? A drunk? who knows, my mom would sleep with anybody who had a big dick.  Somehow, after about 4 hours of packing upon packing (with an hour  or so in between wasted on my mom screaming and shouting at me) I finally got most of our stuff packed into four bags.

My mom drove us to the airport, I didn't say a word to her. Cody was rambling on in the backseat about how excited he was, and how he couldn't wait to see the queens and princes. I had told him we were going on vacation, I didn't want to tell him the truth. How do you tell a seven year old his mother is basically disowning him an giving him to a stranger that isn't even related to him? Getting through security was pretty fast; my mother looked relieved that she wouldnt have to go through seurity too... Probably had drugs in her bra or something. The flight seemed to take forever. Cody waas so occupied with the first in flight movie, which happened to be Monster's Inc. I let him listen to my ipod for awhile, and he entertained himself with flipping the table up and down. I let him order a soda too when the flight attendants came around, I thought he deserved a treat.

"Bubby... this is so wonderful!" he exclaimed happily, his eyes bright with excitement. I smiled and popped a piece of watermelon flavored gum in  my mouth to releive the pressure in my ears. I hated flying, but seeing Cody happy made me happy. I smiled at him and kissed the top of his head.

"You're such a big boy, Codster!" I grinned and pressed a kiss to the top of his head. "Most boys your age are scared to get on airplanes, but you're so big and strong!" Cody's chest seemed to puff out with pride and he beamed proudly.

"I'm a big boy!" he squealed. The old woman sitting in front of me turned around and shushed us hasitly. I shot her a nasty look and looked over to see my little brother, his eyelids heavy with drowsiness.

"Why dont you sleep, huh?"

"O-Okay bubby!" He laid his head on my chest and cuddled into me. I sighed and fell into sleep myself.

I woke up to the flight attendant's sweet voice over the intercom. "Welcome to Manchester!" she exclaimed. There was a click. Cody was bouncing in his seat excitedly as he peered out the window.

"Look Eli, it's pretty!" He smiled. I peeked out of the window. I had to admit, it was pretty. The plane finally landed, Cody whining and gripping me as the plane touched down. We walked into the airport, my legs were wobbly, and Cody was stumbling all over the place, giggling to himself.

"B-Bubby!" he whimpered. "Piggy back ride?" I nodded and leaned over, hoisting the little boy onto my back. This airport was huge, and nothing like the one back home in Maryland.  At least everyone spoke English, I thought to myself. I walked along with Cody on my back before he hopped down. I then took Cody's hand in mine, telling him to stay close, and headed over to the baggage claim. It took at least ten minutes to find where the baggage claim actually was.  Once I had all of our bags in tow, I started scanning the airport for my dad. I really had no idea who I was looking for. I had no idea what the guy could possibly look like. I was average...so I assumed that he was average too.  The thought bothered me. My eyes caught a glimpse of someone outside the automatic sliding glass doors, holding a sign. I headed towards him, making sure Cody was right behind me. As I got closer I could see the sign read, 'Eli Haynes & Cody Delund'. Well, this was my dad. He had short black hair, about the same color as mine. The closer I got, the more prominent the bags underneath his eyes became. He looked older than he was, but was still in shape and everything... His smile widened as he saw us approaching.

"You must be Eli!" He beamed, holding out his hand. I shook it briefly and nooded.

"Yeah, and this is Cody." I gestured to my little brother. Cody smiled, but didn't say anything. I sighed awkwardly, keeping my eyes on my feet. It was so wierd, meeting my dad for the first time, and I didn't even feeel comfortable to shake his hand..

"Well, why don't we get you boys home?" My dad said as he started loading our bags into his car. I scoweled at him when he called it home, but he didn't seem to notice.

"I'm Andy by the way, if you don't feel comfortable with calling me dad.." he said flatly,

The drive from the airport to his house took about twenty minutes. the scenerey was nice, but I was really really annoyed. I wanted to shoot myself after five. Cody hadn't said a word  and neither had I. The guy was too peppy, making a big deal about some kid named Zane. For whatever reason, he really wanted me to meet him. Great.
