6. Don't leave me wasted

"For fuck's sake Niall, stop walking around like that! You're making me nervous!"

Niall ignored his girlfriend and kept pacing back and forth between the couch and the table.
"I'm gonna have a heart-attack", he mumbled. "Oh my God, I think I'm dying."

"You certainly will if you keep doing that! Babe, please sit down, it's going to be fine. I promise."
Melody pointed at the free space on the couch.

Niall let out a long sight and plopped down next to her. He ruffled his hair and made a whale-like noise.

"I'm so scared, Mel."

She tilted her head.
"Why would you be scared?"

"Because this is absolutely nuts! We haven't talked in months. I mean, we both have changed. What if we don't even get along anymore? What if he became super annoying and rude? Well yeah, it's Liam, I don't think that he can ever be rude. But he has a song called 'rude hours'. I mean, it isn't about beong rude, it's about butt-sex in a car, so I wouldn't really be suprised if-"

"For God's sake baby, breathe!"
Melody grabbed his shoulders and squeezed them, while locking eyes with him.
"Niall James Horan, listen to me: Liam is your bandmate. You've experienced so much crazy shit with him. There's no way the two of you won't get along, okay?"

Niall just nodded, still feeling out of breath.

"See? You got this, Niall. It'll be alright."

He took a few deep breaths, closing his eyes. When he opened them again, he instantly felt better.

"I will fix this. I will get this fucking band back", he mumbled, trying to convince himself that it really was true.

"Now that's the Niall that I know." Melody smiled, which made Niall smile too, because her dimples were just too cute.

He reached out with one hand and softly caressed her rosy cheek.

She leaned in for a kiss and Niall hapilly kissed her back, still carassing her cheek while he moving his lips against hers.

Sadly, she broke the kiss after a few seconds.

"I'm sorry, but I should really go now. Liam will be there in a few minutes. And my mom's probably waiting for me."

Niall nodded.
"Tell her that I'm very sorry for missing her brunch."

"Oh, I'm sure she'll understand. See ya later, Ni-Ni!"

She pecked his lips one last time.

"Bye, love you!"

And with that, Melody left the house and left Niall alone on the sofa, his stomach twisted in knots.

In the meantime, Liam had arrived
at Niall's fence gate and was standing there anxiously. He was almost as nervous as his friend was.

Liam was amazed over how modern Niall's house looked. He tought that it was really cool, but at the other hand, it didn't really seem like it would fit the Niall that he knew. That kinda scared Liam.

What if I don't even know him anymore?

He shook his head, trying to ignore the thought of it and pressed the intercom button.

"Get yourself together, Liam", he mumbled.

A creaking sound came from the intercom.

"Hello?", Liam asked.
