My weeks were normal. I had a full two weeks of quiet after the game. Friday rolled around again and I was actually dreading the weekend. I didn't want to be alone and have all the time to myself.
I walked to my locker and shoved what I didn't need and when I closed it I was face to face with Leo. I felt my eyes widen and I saw him half smile as we came face to face.
"Hi," He breathed. He extended his hand to me, "I'm Leo."
"Um, hi i'm um Mia," I stuttered as I grabbed his hand and shook it. The second my hand met his I felt warmth engulf my entire body. Butterflies erupted in my stomach and I was almost stuck in that spot."It's nice to meet you," He smiled.
Did he feel the warmth too?
Was I making all these feelings up?
"I was actually wondering if I could get to know you. Do you wanna go out and do something tonight?" He asked, snapping me back from my thoughts.
I was still holding his hand and I felt my cheeks getting red.
"Yes, sure that would be great," I responded.
"Sweet, can i get your number?" He asked.
This wasn't happening to me? On my first week I was asked out on a date? I wasn't this girl. I was never stuck up on boys and let alone was I ever one to stop and feel like one of those romance movie girls?
It took me another minute to realize I was STILL holding Leo's hand.
I sheepishly took my hand from his and all the warmth left me. I felt almost sad instantly.
Leo handed me his phone and I put in my number.
"Ill uh i'll call you later," He said.
"Okay,"
We exchanged the same smile and he turned and sauntered away. I immediately realized that everyone was staring. Everyone. Wide eyed, open mouthed, staring.
I slammed my locker and turned on my heel to leave as quickly as I could. It took all of two seconds before Lizzy was at my side with Ava.
"Did he-"
"He did he asked-"
"No freaking way i cannot-"
"How could you-"
"I don't know," I breathed in between their excited panic.
"Are you guys going out? This is news, this is like history i cannot believe it," Isabella exclaimed.
"Yeah he asked me out," I shrugged and tried to keep my huge grin hidden.
I must've had the biggest smile on my face as I walked inside. Theo immediately stopped me, a matching smile, to ask about my day.
"I didn't get a call so it's safe to assume whatever fight you got into you did it In the bathroom right ?" He joked. "But, that good of a day huh?"
"Yeah it was great. Lizzy is a great friend and my classes are super easy." I said.
"And that's it? A smile that big for 'easy classes and friends' yeah right" He laughed.
"Okay well, I got asked to go out tonight," I sheepishly replied. And if on cue, my phone started ringing.
"Okay, well you don't really know any of these kids yet i think you should just invite him over here to hang out then," Theo said. I nodded and answered my phone.
"Hello?"
"What's your favorite color?" a deep voice immediately cut in.
"Um, purple" I responded.
