PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

It has been two days since we escaped from Blackwater and found ourselves camped in this old abandoned mining town. And since then, we've lost many. Even John was missing, leaving Abigail worried sick. Rightfully so, that is. He had a son to protect after all...
The worsening weather didn't help us, either.
Despite the fire, the cold still managed to seep its way through. Supplies were lessening, and everyone is growing hungry. Mrs. Adler still hasn't spoken a word; poor thing. It seems that luck hasn't been on anyone's side...I've been trying to be optimistic one. To keep everyone's spirits up. But as the weeks grow longer & colder, the harder it becomes.
"Arthur got you writing down your thoughts too?" Tilly teases, pulling Abby's attention away from her journal. She smiles, bashfully. Before shutting it closed.
"It's kinda nice." Abby shrugs. "Keeps me kinda sane in a way...." She explains, stuffing her belongings back into her bag beside her.
"How can you even think with how cold it is!" Karen exclaims toward the young woman, causing the other woman to chuckle.
Wait.
Immediately takes notice of the lack of Abigail's presence. She quickly scans the room in haste, before setting eyes on Abigail.
Without hesitation, the girl walks across the room. Hovering anxiously behind the black haired woman. "I-Im sure he's fine." Abby speaks up. Abigail peers up, a tinge of surprise written across her face. This was because the two rarely spoke to one another. If ever, only revolving chores or business matters. But with what has happened, this felt necessary.
"I don't know... He ain't been seen in days, the weather ain't let up." Abigail speaks her worries, causing the girl to nod in sympathy.
"John strong—Nothing can kill that bastard."
Abigail's husband was bone-headed; proved that plenty of times. If it wasn't him pulling himself out, others would miraculously do it for him.
"You think—Could you talk with Arthur?" Abigail asks after a few moments of silence.
The girl had no issue with asking favors for her older brother. The difficult part was having to convince him. Especially, if it involved John Marston.
