In the autumn of the next year, Rose's toxic relationship had come to an end and she was inconsolable. It was at this juncture that she gave up on herself and her life. She gave up on everything and she wanted it all to end. She had dealt with enough pain and she did not have the courage to take any more. She was hired by one of the best firms at college the same day but nothing seemed to keep her happy. She did not trust people anymore.
It was in this state that she met a guy, an angel in disguise - Ricky. A stranger to her but how could she even trust him? Well she didn't want life anymore. So why not just say whatever she felt like before she ends it all. With the same thoughts in mind she spoke to the guy and spoke all she could, every bit of her fears and insecurities. He knew her as much as she knew herself in that one night. He kept up with her through days and nights for a month all together and made her realise she was worth more than this. She slowly started looking at life in a different perspective. She revisited the doc and told him all that happened.
Yes, she was extremely sad but her newly made friend-Ricky pulled all the strings together to prevent her from falling into the well of depression. He knew she was sensitive. He knew she was dealing with tough times. But he showed her a telescopic view of life - a life where each of the instances were like smaller dots on a piece of white paper. One can either choose to connect the dots and make life beautiful or try and erase them, tearing the paper of life into pieces. Rose was slowly growing, getting more matured and was stringer than ever. She was not as strong as a rock but she was herself now. Wise, Talented in her own way and smart to make her own decisions.
Time heals and so did it for her. But some scars stay longer. Some leave a very deep impact in one's life and so emerged her "Self Doubt" and "Trust Issues". She knew she was dealing with these and she handled them pretty well with everyone around but deep inside her fears still killed her. Had depression left her? Yes. Had she become stronger? Yes. Had the shock converted into a cakewalk? Not yet. Self doubt still struck chords in her brain. She could never forget being called Worthless by her counterparts. She was never good enough! Yes, she was herself....But she needed some justification sometimes. She was very well aware of her weakness.
Ricky and Rose were now closer than ever. Ricky knew every bit about Rose and so did she. They were extremely comfortable with each other and could share anything without the fear of being judged or misread. Their bond was special and strong. They smiled together, laughed together and even knew when the other person was hurt. Oh boy, did they communicate even in silence, through Telepathy. They could sense everything that was going on. They were as good as chuddy-buddies!
With all the closeness, Rose now felt the need to understand how strong the bond was. A shy Ricky, spoke two words, which for him meant everything! But to Rose even a paragraph was not enough. Had she failed in understanding him now? Her glimpses of self-doubt started resurfacing silently. Without a realization or thought, she seeked appreciation from Ricky. But, oh boy, he was sleepy. What could he have thought after all!
While on the other hand, Rose continued to think that maybe she wasn't good enough, yet again, to even be a companion! Amidst all this emerged the words from Ricky's words- "Argue". That was it! Her drops trickled down.
All Rose wanted was to hold a candid talk. She had told him all before that today she seeked opinion and some positive vibes. Was this Ricky's true feeling or was it just a slip of tongue in dizziness? Was Rose really the kind to hold a fight and argue? Well her chords of self doubt stung harder now. She felt pain heavier than ever. Had she actually healed or was it all a dream!? Was she hallucinating so far of being a better self? Well she could no more distinguish reality from facts.
All she knew and hoped was true is that the drowsiness struck Ricky and it was not what he actually felt. Well, even if it was, she hoped he had a reason coz' of course Ricky can never be wrong to Rose. After all, she was something special to him. And for Rose, Ricky was a big part of her life. In fact, the only special person in her life.
Ricky was "The Only One" for Rose. Was she still?
After all, "The Only One" had a special meaning in their bond
