It had been a long 8 months. Quarantine had consisted of attempting to glow up, watching an unholy amount of TikTok's, pretending to eat healthily but most of all, waiting to start filming again. Olivia was buried under her blankets, slowly being roused by the morning sun started to rise over the mountains in Salt Lake City. A soft knock came from the other side of her door, followed by the sound of her mother's voice.
"Liv, honey, it's 7," she said. Olivia groaned from under the sheets and raised her arms above her head to stretch. "Breakfast will be ready soon," she informed her warmly before her footsteps could be heard going down the stairs.
The heavy duvet was suddenly flung to the end of the bed as her feet made contact with the wooden floors. The hair on her arms stood up from the cold air coming into contact with her warm skin, so she grabbed a hoodie on her way to the bathroom. Her feet padded across the floors into the room next to hers, seeing her fuzzy halo of hair and tired eyes. Liv was never one for early mornings, but this was an exception. She smiled to herself and she picked up her brush and dragged it through her long brown hair and felt her heart fluttering. Today, after a little over 259 days, was the day that she would be going back to see all of her best friends. Olivia went through the motions of her morning routine of doing her skincare, brushing her teeth, putting on a small amount of makeup all while her head was spinning with excitement. She hummed to herself, Taylor Swift's Cruel Summer stuck in her head as she took her mascara wand and layered the black liquid onto her long lashes.
Olivia danced back to her room, unable to contain herself. Her brush was in her hand, using it as a mic for her one-person concert as she sang to herself.
She looked into her full-length mirror, smiling uncontrollably as she sang the chorus. "Baby it's new, the shape of your body it's blue, the feelin' I've got and it's o-" her singing faded away as a picture in the top corner of her mirror caught her eye, and of course it had to be the one and only- Joshua Bassett. Liv blushed at the picture of her and him, thinking back to when the polaroid was taken; him in his leather jacket, her with her white turtle neck. She missed those times, not forgetting a single second of it despite how long ago it was. She was nostalgic for something that happened only a year ago; nostalgic for normalcy. She hated that she thought that way when so many people were dying and had died, but she couldn't help herself. Call her privileged, but she missed being able to go outside and hug her friends without worrying about both her and their safety.
Even more than that, she missed him. She missed Josh. Yeah, he was her best friend, but that didn't stop her from wondering if they could ever be more. Now Olivia wasn't stupid; she knew the risks that came with dating a co-star. Hell, she even went through it herself already, but that hardly made her think about him in that light any less. Their chemistry was undeniable which made a multitude of fans squeal over them. At first, she thought nothing of it, but they made her look at him in a different light than before. Josh was originally just... well, Josh. But then... then he was Josh. Her stomach flipped whenever he would see him and his infectious smile and goofy personality made her head all fuzzy and her stomach burst into butterflies. She tore her eyes away from the picture, only making herself more nervous the longer she stared at it.
After her little episode, her excited energy turned into nerves. Her stomach was doing acrobatics so she called Sofia.
The phone rang a few times before she picked up. "Hello?"
"Hiiii," Olivia said in a sly voice. She instantly relaxed when she heard her voice.
"OH my god, hello," Sofia said back, and liv could hear her smile through the phone. "What's up?"
"Are you... um, are you nervous?" Olivia said into the phone in an almost whisper. Sofia laughed loudly and responded in a whisper also.
"No, why?"
