That Summer

Chapter 2

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I slowly open my eyes, and try to reach for my phone to stop the alarm. I reached over to my night stand and started slapping my hand on the table hoping to find it. After about three minutes of searching I found it, and turned off the alarm. I rolled over, and stood up. I yawned while walking over to my window. I pulled back the curtains to let the sun in.

I then opened my window, and as soon as I did a gust of wind hit me in my face. I live in Fort Bragg, California, and I'm a surfer/skate boarder. In other words I'm chill and I LOVE to have fun. I don't have many friends, I don't party much, and I like my big brothers best friend Jacob. My brother is 11 months older than me, and is the schools favorite basketball player. While on the other hand I am the weird girl. I'm not a nerd, but I'm still disliked and invisible like one.

A knock on my bedroom brought me back to reality."Come in!", I yell. My brother opened the door and threw something at me." Happy early birthday, sis!" He says with a bright smile. I gave him an raised eyebrow, and reached for the small blue box. I picked it up, and started to unwrapped it. When I opened the box, I squeeled in excitment. He had got me the Iphone 11 pro with a water proof case.

"I love you,I love you, I loooove you!" I say while running towards him, and bear hugging him. He let out an, "Oof", as I hugged him. He returned the gesture." Welcome sis, I've seen you eyeing that thing for a while now, and thought 'why not', you know?"

"No, I don't, but I'm still grateful!"I say with a big smile."But why are you giving me this? My birthday is a week away."

"Well... um..."He looks down at his feet and then out my window."My basket ball tournament is the week of your birthday..."Now choosing to make eye contact with me. He had a look of dissappointment planted on his face.

"It's ok, Kade!" I say trying to make him feel better." I'm pretty sure, I'm just going to be here all day anyways watching movies. My birthday won't be the same without you. So we will celebrate it when you get back, ok?"

"Ok", he says putting me in a headlock. He chuckles at me trying to break lose. After about five minutes he left, and I preceeded to get ready and headed for the beach.

I got in the car, and I went to the beach.
