vampires are human like creatures, capable of living among humans. however, such ghastly creature cannot be trusted. once a month, these creatures must quench their thirst for blood in order to surive. many vampires have adapted to their living conditionds and have formed related powers such as flying, shapeshifting, invisibility, manipulation, and seduction to better lure in prey. depending on each vampire's individual skill level, age, and region, some powers vary in each individual creature. vampires, despite their law defying abilities, are weak to religous symbols, long periods of time in the sunlight, and direct impact on their heart. 

experiences and sightings of vampires were much more common in the middle ages. after the harsh penalties of the salem witch trials, vampires have since then become suspicous and fearful of humans and have this hidden themselves away in the dark corners of civilization, disgusing themselves as average members of society
