"Are you fucking with me?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows. "What is happening tonight?"

I glanced between Felicity, Azazel, and Naamah. I was so very confused, wanting to back away further had I not already been against the wall. I felt really guarded, even more than I already had. I trusted Felicity. I had known her all of my life. There was no one I trusted more than her. But in the moment, I couldn't.

Felicity's shoulders dropped a little. "Can we go home?"

"Are you joking?" I asked in annoyance. "No. Tell me now."

"We can tell you what you want to know at your home," Azazel said. He glanced around just as the elevator doors opened and a group of people walked off. "There are too many people here."

I scoffed. "Why do you think I would want you to know where I live?"

"I already know where you live," he responded, not even blinking. My eyes widened slightly. He took a step back and away from me. "Let's go."

I gritted my teeth, looking over at Felicity. She seemed so hesitant to approach me but she did anyhow. "I promise you that you're safe. I wouldn't let anything bad happen to you. You know that."

I didn't say anything, but I let her pull me after them. Azazel and Naamah walked ahead and outside. Once outside, a red sports car was spotted in the middle of nowhere. I eyed it in confusion as we were approaching it before we climbed in. I sat with Felicity in the backseat, but I didn't say a single word.

Azazel zoomed off down the abandoned road. The only sound that could be heard was the roaring of the engine. No one was speaking. I wasn't sure whether I preferred it that way or not.

I looked out the window the entire car ride. I could feel Felicity's eyes on me often but until I knew the truth, I was going to be defensive. She knew me well enough to know that.

Once we arrived at our apartment, everyone sat down except Azazel. I nearly rolled my eyes, watching as he observed around the room—from the photos Felicity and I had plastered everywhere, to the plants that I parented. He was just walking back and forth, irritating me.

"So," I grunted. "What's going on?"

My question drew Azazel back in. He approached me, standing in front of where I was seated on the couch. Then he sat on the coffee table directly in front of me, resting his arms on his thighs. My lips thinned as he continued to look at me like he was studying me. He shifted closer, tilting my chin upward. I jerked away from him, ignoring the lingering tingle of his touch.

"What are you doing?" I asked in annoyance.

"Taking you in," he said, keeping his eyes on me.

"Why?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Why not?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. He brushed a finger against my exposed knee. I felt goosebumps arise on my skin, a sensation flooding throughout my body. My breathing hitched in my throat. "Are you going to touch me now? Or continue denying yourself what you truly desire?"

"I don't want to touch you," I scowled.

"That's not true," he responded without even blinking. He extended his hand towards me again. I began to eye it, raising my hand hesitantly. Still disgruntled, I thought fuck it. But before I took the plunge into the unknown, I looked to Felicity for confirmation. And she nodded.

Maybe she didn't deserve my trust anymore but I wanted answers. And no matter how confusing all of this was, Felicity was the only safety I knew. I probably wasn't thinking clearly. I probably should've just packed all of my things and left. But I trusted her, possibly foolishly.
