Where The Hell Am I?

Normally im not opposed of waking up to the chirping of birds. Normally. But if you are somewhere in nowhere then then it ain't funny anymore. But it's no fun with or without birds chirping.

But let us start from the beginning. I just randomly woke up in a forest. A
FOREST!!! The good question is: how did I i end up here? I can't remember that I have ingested such dubious substances that made me forget so much that I can't even recall to end in here. Well... I admit... I'm working with that one caterpillar. But it just makes rashes on skin and respiratory problems... Not amnesia.

Surely. Today it's easy to get your hands on stuff you better let your fingers from. Where you later can't recall what day month or even year we have.
And like it is with lots of things. It's sometimes dangerously easy to get such stuff. And I guess, living in a city who already is claimed to be dangerous it makes it even easier. My own fault for wanting to study there. Ohh well, shit happens. And it looks like my luck has left me completely.

Or maybe I decided, for whatever reason, to sleep in the woods. That theory wouldn't be that out of logic, when I would be in a evergreen forest. One with pine trees to be specific. Because of above mentioned caterpillars, which are night active and eating pines. And I write an assignment about them. And to watch them sleeping in forest.
But as far as I can watch, just broadleaf forest. And those ain't just some small little trees. No. Those are centuries old giants. Just that I can't recall a forest of those measurements to be near my place. That conclusion again brings me to the most important question at hand: where am I?

So, I can say: either I got carried here from someone or I came here on my own volution and I can't remember that anymore.
So much for the probable reasons that I might have ended up here, in this very abandoned forest. Because I can’t explain it any other way, as much as I like all magical stuff and read about it. But as future scientist of my own I can't imagine things like magic portals. Mah imaginating I can, just does it work against like every law of nature. So that explanation falls awy too.

But back to the actual situation. First of all let's ask the almighty network where I am. Then, with cellphones and all you can't get lost nowadays. Unless I ended up in one of the still-existing radio holes. Because then I'd be pretty much fucked up. Like really bad bad fucked up.

And as I can tell by looking at my cell phone, the worst case scenario has just arrived. There’s no network. Now don't go crazy, just breathe deeply, and don’t cry. Crying won't help me at all in that situation. It's probably just my phone that doesn't want to work as it actually should. That's what I tell myself. Therefore, restarting and trying again to locate myself.

With a beating heart, anxious that now everything is finally as it should be, I take a look at my phone. Just to see that nothing happened at all, then it still shows the same results.
That can't be true right? Which higher power did I anger that much to have earned sich fate?

Meanwhile I’m about to throw my phone at the next best tree. But that won't help me at all. Because then my phone and my only access for information would be gone.
Since I still need to know where I am I need to get to find out my location. Sadly without my phone to help.

What might help me now is the fact that I grew up countryside and that I more or less have an idea of nature and forests. And that far away from civilization I can't be after all. That at least is what I assume

Therefore, I need toake a survival plan. Step one is finding out my location. Works good from a higher up point of view. Just that I don't know if there are hills, rocks or so for looking around. So, I can just use a tree. Just the fact of not being completely free of giddiness is in my way of it. But not having much alternatives I have to use a tree. And if I already have to climb then one where I could sleep onto if worst case scenario happens and I'm still trapped in that forest. After all sleeping on the floor in a unknown place ain't a clever decision.

It's true that a tree ain't the best choice to sleep either, but I still rather sleep on a tree then the floor. Welcome to my paranoid brain when it involves thoughts of random oming here wild animals. With them in play is end of line

And if one says to me that bear wolf and the rest ain't living in free nature nowadays then that dumb person isn't up to date. Then the truth is. Those animals are everywhere again. And often more intelligent as us naked two-legged species.

Sep two is: finding out what stuff is eatable and what not, and if there really are dangerous animals in that region. But most importantly is it to find something to eat. And even more important I need to find something to drink. My luck is that I have my backpack with me. In it is still some stuff from my excursions. Like a small first aid kit. Some books to identify animals and plants, magnifying glass, tweezers and a scalpel. Which I can use as weapon in case of an attack. Which is why I'm carrying it in my hand right now.

Some sort of plan having, I start to walk. Orientation is giving me the sun, thaz way I'm at least not completely lost.
I don't know how long I'm already walking trough the forest, but slowly it's getting time to find a village or some civilization. I am not in sibiria after all or the great plains where you probably can walk like forever and still don't meet anyone.
At least I found a small stream, at least drying out I won't. Just food is going to be a problem. A big one on that too.

But better in going to bring step one into action. And that's climb up a tree, for looking if I can find out where I am. So said and done. Ub in higher regions. Just don't look down, then I'm fine I'm sure.

Or not. After all I have to look down to see where I am, but also there I dotn see anything aside trees, much to my chagrin. And a slowly setting sun. Which shows me that I probably have to sleep on the tree which I choosed to use as looking around point. Even another night out in the open I can't avoid at tjsoe circumstances now.

And that's not cool. So absolutely not. But all left for me is bite your teeth together and go through with it. I will survive that, somehow. Just if I can do that thasz the big question. Then with sleep deviporation I can't go on for long. And so I search for a a tree branch that can carry me and is near the trunk cause thinker there, and bind myself on the three with the bandages I'm luckily carrying with me in my backpack. As safety to not fall down to the floor.
Although a bit unsteady sleeping position, and the knowledge that I have no idea where I am, the exhaustion of the happenings of the day catch on on me and my eyes are getting heavy, until sleep still gets better on me and I sleep in.
