*Flashback*
"Lillian and Carter are dating.""Really!?" I asked, surprised.
"Yeah." Matt said, monotonously.
"Are you okay with it, since you like Lillian and all?"
Matt was the player of the school. He would date them for a day and then dump them. He may have the looks, but once you know his ways, you'll wish you've never fallen for him.
He once dated Skylar, my best friend, but then they broke up since he cheated.
Told another girl he loved her.
I like to wonder why I'm best friends with him.
"Yeah I'm good, what about you, Jules? Are you okay since you like Caaaaarteeer?" He shot back, stretching out his name.
"Psh, what are you talking about? I don't like him. Remember last year? He can date whoever he wants. I don't care."
He chuckled, "Chill. No need to get all defensive. I was just asking."
I was silent before I asked, "How did this happen?"
"Well, it was confession night. She confessed, he confessed, and then he asked her. Doesn't that sound familiar, Jules?" I could practically hear his smirk.
I thought back to last year. Carter and I started talking after he had just gone through a break up with a girl named Joanna. That's when I told him that I liked him. I was such a stupid girl. He told me he liked me too. Stupid boy.
"Jules?"
"Oh wait, huh, yeah?"
"You still like him, don't you?"
I started to get annoyed as I snapped over the phone, "I told you! It was in the past. I don't like him anymore."
"Okay, I'm sorry! Jeez," he mumbled.
"Anyway, changing the topic. I wonder how many girls, you're gonna date this year," I said, laughing quietly.
"Probably none. I don't feel like dating anyone,"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-"
"I'm serious!"
"You wanna bet?" I smirked.
"Okay, wait, never mind then."
"Knew it."
"Whatever, we should all have a last hang out before summer ends." He suggested.
"No, I'm good."
He whined, "Why not?"
"Last time, everybody couldn't come so it was just you and me. Do you think I like hanging out with you?" I retorted.
"C'mon! We're best friends!"
"Nope, I'm okay," I said, trying to be serious.
"Rude. You're no fun."
"Thank you."

Just Like That
Teen FictionJust like that, everything can change. Juliet was everything that Carter wasn't. She was shy, smart, (not saying he's dumb), nerdy, and tried to isolate herself from the populars. Carter, however, was a jock. He was loud, funny, and outgoing. Well...
