We, the selected teachers, along with the school staffs gathered in a fast food chain. Our Director treated us for dinner. The restaurant isn't in town; we had to travel almost an hour to get there. When we reached the place, they asked me and one of my co-teacher to order our food. I stood up and follow the queue, Jelal, my co-teacher stood beside me.
An old lady followed me on the line. She was having trouble getting her money from her purse, coins rolled down the floor.
As an initial reaction, I bowed and started picking up the coins one by one when I saw another hand collecting also.
I took a quick glance to the owner of the hand and a guy, maybe 2-year above my age, smiled at me. I did smile as a response.
We both gave the coins to the old woman, and let her grab my place. She was now before me. I didn't know that the guy earlier was standing after the old woman, so now he was behind me.
When it was my turn, I gave the cashier the list of my order and she finished everything up in just a few minutes.
"Please wait for assistance, Ma'am. Your food will go after you." the lady said looking around waiting for another crew to assist me.
"Maybe, I could help." the guy behind me approached.
He picked up two of the trays and motioned me to tell him where my place is.
I was a little bit shocked for a moment, but I managed to tell him where. We both strolled down the area and get to our table. We both placed the trays there, and then Jelal placed the other two trays also.
"Thank you." I told the guy, he just smiled for response.
"And what was that?" Sheen, a friend of mine, asked me teasingly. She was sitting beside me.
"Well, a helper maybe." I answered her shooting a glance to the guy who was now ordering for his own food.
"What rare specie. Playing gentleman, huh? " she even added.
All eyes were on me, they were teasing me about the guy helping me two times. I hate it though.
We started eating.
Guys beside our table laughed their asses out. They caught my attention, the guy was with them.
Okay, he was cute and tidy, somehow looks like an educated person.
I shrugged with the thought. I just continued consuming my food and eavesdropping the chitchats of my co-teachers and staffs.
They stopped talking and I stopped listening to what they were talking about when a child poked me. I was about to give him my dessert when he spoke up.
"A guy wants to get your number, miss." he said pointing behind me.
I turned my body to see who the person is.
Since the fast food chain is surrounded by fiber glass wall, I could clearly see the gentleman earlier, with his friends, sitting on the bumper of a black car. When our eyes met, he waved his phone and gave out a cool smile.
"Ow, that's cute!" Sheen giggled beside me, as well as the people with us. She brought out a pen and picked up a tissue and began writing down a phone number there.
"You don't have to do that." I told her.But she just shrugged her shoulder, "Of course, I have to!" she grinned and gave the tissue to the child and the child ran outside the place and reached the guy.
The time the child gave him the tissue, he handed the child a paper bill and waved him goodbye.
He scanned the tissue and looked at me and mouthed, "Thank you."
I could read through his lips. I just went back to my food and smiled secretly.
