"Go ahead. Laugh." I said as I rolled my eyes at them.
Then they created a big fuss.
"Where is Tris?" a voice from behind ended the laughter.
We all turned our faces. Our Director came.
I raised my hand, "Ma'am."
"How are you? What happened?" she asked. She touched my forehead as soon as she reached me.
"She isn't sick, Ma'am." Jedd interrupted.
"Then, what happened?" one staff asked. The whole room, once again, was filled with little chuckles and giggles.
Tss. They're making fun of me, again."It looks like our so called kid here is already a grown-up lady after all." Jedd pertained to me.
I glared at him, "I'm not a kid. Psh."And they laughed again.
If only I didn't have ice cubes on my head, I'd probably smashed my fist to Jedd's face.
"I don't get you everyone." Ma'am asked in complete confusion.
"She was sh--"We were interrupted by Sheen's voice.
"Tris! I brought you someone!" she shouted, not knowing that our Director was here.Everyone ogled, including the inner me, the guy Sheen was referring to.
Dustin.
I scanned him.
Thank goodness. He has his tee shirt on. Why is he here?He waved at us. All eyes were set on him.
"Ow, hi. You seem so familiar." Ma'am stated.
He was about to answer, when Sheen answered for him. "He was the guy that asked for Tris' number, Ma'am. Remember?"
Duh. What are you? A spokesperson?
I could feel my body temper rose up and hit my face."Yeah, I recall. Why are you here? You go after Tris?" Ma'am asked with slight tease in her tone.
He seemed caught off guard.
He looked shocked.
It even took him seconds to reply. "Uhm... I was here first, ma'am."
He then let out a small smile.
"Really? So, is it destiny driving the scene?" another words from Ma'am that made the whole hall laugh.
But I was left there with hanging jaw.
"Oh my gosh! He is blushing!" one of my co-officers exclaimed.
He waved his hands before his face, "Ah, no." and laughed with them.
HE. WAS. BLUSHING.
"So, what is your name, hijo?"
"Dustin, ma'am. Dustin Sandoval." he offered his hands to Ma'am.
And they shook hands.
"Right, Dustin. You want to talk to Tris?" Ma'am asked. My eyes widened up.
Ugh. No please! Not now.
"Ah, I just want to know if she's okay." he answered, and...
FINALLY set his eyes on me.
Not that I wanted to have an eye contact with him, though.
Don't get me wrong. Duh.
"Why?"
"Actually, Ma'am. Dustin was the reason why that girl nearly fainted." Sheen stated pointing at me.I rolled my eyes at her.
"Why? What happened? I was asking the same questions since a while ago."
Everyone chuckled.
"Our Tris saw Dustin half-naked. And then there," she pointed at me again, "her nose bled."
Everyone chuckled.
I hate their sounds! I don't wanna get used to that sounds from them.
While Dustin, on the other hand, gave out a shy smile.I made face. I removed the cold compress on my head. "I am fine." I said directly to him.
He was a bit shocked. Maybe because it's my first time to open my mouth from the time he got here.
He suddenly smiled. A warm one.
"Okay, everyone! Let's give them privacy!" Ma'am clapped.
"What?" I reacted.
"Uhh.. no ma'am. I just--""Enjoy!" they chanted as they made their way out of the hall.
Did just ma'am sold me, too?
I made a deep sigh."Uhh.." a voice beside me caught my attention.
I turned my head and stared at him, waiting for his next words.
But he just... without words, he just smiled.
And I got wrecked.
Inside.I don't cuss, but...
Shit.
Tripple shit.
