Chapter four: A proper introduction

POV: Anna

I woke up in Niall's arms and I couldn't help but smile like an idiot. I didn't want the moment to end so I just closed my eyes in hope to go back to sleep. All I could do was think about my Mom. The only person I grew up with in my house. My father died in the army and my mother has told very little about him. Whenever the subject was brought she would burst into tears. Even while I was in high school the death of my father never stopped hurting her. It got to the point where she excluded herself from the whole world during my junior year. I never a sweet sixteen party.. Or presents for that matter.  My mom and I were never the richest on the block, nor the poorest. My mom worked full time while I had a job since I was fourteen. I saved enough money for a car, accepting the fact I will never have a chance for college. Now that I surprisingly graduated high school, I couldn't stand my mother anymore. I was forced to grow up quickly and never have what a normal kid would want. This was my choice, otherwise I would be shunned by society like my mother. I met Rachel when she was in need of someone, like myself at the time. In school I was always the "quiet" and "weird" girl. I did my best to stay away from everyone with tons of trust issues. She was walking around The middle school’s soccer field completely depressed. I wanted to comfort her so I started walking..then jogging.. To the point where I was sprinting over to her. For some reason looking at her I felt her pain and needed it to stop. When I was 5 feet away from her, Rachel looked up at me and I hugged her. We never talked before then, not a word. Suddenly at that moment we both realized that the two of us needed each other.

“Hey Anna...you ok?” Niall asked in his sexy sleepy voice. I looked up at him my eyes wide open with confusion.

“Yeah why?”

“Well.. you’re crying...” I suddenly felt the tears flowing. Not sure why I was crying..again.. I rubbed the tears off my face.

“Sorry...” I murmured and he just smiled at me. We stared into each other’s eyes for a while until he finally asked,

“Why were you crying?”

“Well... I left my Mother a few days ago. And I’m not sure if it was the best thing to do.” I told him honestly.

“Why did you leave her?”

“I didn’t need her... but she might have needed me.” I bit the bottom of my lip, doing my best to hold back the tears from spilling again.

“It’s O-” Niall was interrupted by the door swinging open.

“RISE AND SHINE YOU LOVE BIRDS!” Louis yelled. Niall sighed and leaned into kiss me. I jumped out of the bed and ran out of the room. I don’t want to be in a relationship with Niall Horan. He deserves more than me. Niall started to call after me but I went downstairs where they’d be witnesses.

Rachel gave me a confused look but I silently nodded to her. Letting her know I’d tell her later. She looked away trying not to be too obvious of our silent conversation while the guys were staring at me. I just gave a smile and walked to the kitchen. Harry was about to object but I just shushed him. He backed off thankfully while the boys were making request for breakfast.

“I’ll make pancakes.” I said cheerfully. The boys cheered and went into the living room. Watching cartoons and what not. I swear it’s like these boys are ten year olds!

Niall never came down until I had a big dish of pancakes. He could probably smell it...

“Thanks Anna!” Harry cheered.

“Thank you Anna!” the rest of the boys thanked in unison.

“Thanks Anna,” Rachel put an arm around my shoulders. She put rested her head next to mine. The boys looked at us then covered their mouths and noses.
