Melissa walks downstairs an hour later for her breakfast.
Mrs Serrano opens all the dishes she has prepared and to her surprise
"What's this" she said irritated.
" Your deli..." Melissa gets up to leave," where you going?"
" To my room to get some peace" she walks away abruptly.
Mrs Serrano just sat there pondering on what to do to appease her daughter. "What should I do to make her feel and understand this is her new home and life."
Melissa was not seen out of her room throughout the day after the incident.
The Next Morning
Melissa's POV
"Shit" I'm damn hungry. If I don't get anything to eat,I would probably starve to death the next minute.
I'm not expecting mom to prepare anything after what I did yesterday.
True to my words,she had left home really early in the morning and the house looked devastated.
Well ,I'll rush to the fridge in the kitchen to compensate my rumbling stomach, I notice some nicely arranged dishes and drink on the kitchen table.
I sipped the drink first "OMG". It was calvades.
How on Earth did she know I love to drink this early in the morning.
I tasted the croissant, it was so good.
"Sweet morning dear" I turned around to see my mom staring at me.
"I thought you would never eat my food, guess your hunger took you to the extreme ,huh?
"Nope, I never said so. I just don't eat fried foods"
"Whaaaat, a French lady like you"
" Yep, I'm watching my weight, "So how did you cope in France"
"Dunno, that's why I love alcohol, it keeps my blood boiling"
I took my food to my room to enjoy a quiet meal.
MRS SERRANO'S POV
( Phone rings)
"Hello dear friend"
" Hi, Mrs Slevoskii"
"How's it going"
" Not so good, never knew ma baby doesn't eat fried foods and I prepared a whole banquet"
"What a waste,very embarrassing for a mother"
" Well, I'm trying to make it up"
"Yh, as to why I called is a perfect idea"

"Like taking her to college or vocational trainings to take her mind off and get friends"
