A young 16 year old man runs through the streets running past many civilians who quickly gave a hello as he passed. The Sun was there high in sky, as it usually is on a summer afternoon. School had just ended today, so several juveniles like this one couldn't wait to get home and kick off their vacation.
Anyway this boy was running home to school, and begin his summer like anyone else. But he's got other plans than any normal kid. Although some students go to places like China or Hawaii for school funded trips during this time, or leave town to see family members and bond with them. This guy is not like the other kids. His name is Maruko Riso Tekina , and his plan for the summer is to stay locked in his room and play videogames for the whole time. Now that I think about it, it doesn't seem different for several other people like me. \(=W=)/
*Maruko's POV*
"Maaaaaan can't wait to get home and waste my summer" I think to myself as I run past everyone. "Hey Maruko!" A girl dressed in a white tank top with matching baseball cap and blue jeans appears and appears in front idle to say hi. "Hey May! What's up?" I say to her as I slow down my pace to talk to her. "Oh nothing much. How about you?"..,
We then start to walk side by side as we chat on about how are lives are going and what we plan on doing during our break "Just gonna play games huh?" She sighs and tells me "You should really get out once in a while. I mean you do track and all, but you hardly go outdoors unless it's just for groceries or school and whatnot. I mean you could go out there, and get yourself a girlfriend. " "You know I already told you that I'm not interested in dating." I reply to her,"Or reality in that matter." She looked at me for a moment, and then shook her head in dissapointment for my choices in life. After a minute passed she finally replies "Dude, even if you say that there's no fucking way for you to actually mean it. I mean lots of people do that, and end up regretting it." I got a little irritated at that comment, but I decided to say nothing and try to change the subject. Before we know it I realize that we made it to my house.
My place is nice, not too big, not too small. It's a good place for you to stay in. Plus my parents are usually never home, so I get the place all to myself. Though it sucks that I have to clean up after this place, but it's a small price to pay for freedom.
"Well then, see you later May!" I say to her as I we begin to part ways. "Take care of yourself!' She tells me, "and don't forget what I said about finding someone to be happy!" We both wave goodbye, and I enter my house. 'Maaaaan! What's with her?' I think to myself. "Who says you need love to be happy? I play plenty of visual novels, so I can get a girl if I want. Not that I actually asked a 'Real' girl out, but who really cares.
I quickly run up to my room, shutting the door, and dropping my bag. To me there was literally no time for me to do anything, and start up my computer. It didn't really take me long to decide which game I was gonna start with. I even made a list of what games to play this summer, and the top one on this very list was Minecraft. I even took the time to learn how to program some mods in like Mob talker, Mo creatures, Mutants, etc. Because if there's one thing I hate, it's doing Vanilla Minecraft all summer.
So the game starts to upload slowly, and I was just sitting there for 3 whole minutes. " *Sighs* maybe it wasn't such a good idea to upload all those mods. Either that or the computer was the problem itself. I mean it's something that my parents bought before even I was born. Something about an old man giving it out for free. Eh... yeah I don't really care much about.
Anyway I got bored, so I decided to grab a snack. Running down the hall, I go to the kitchen and head towards the fridge. Unfortunately, I realize that I forgot to go to the grocery store to get food yesterday, so I have nothing to eat. Luckily however, I still had that blue raspberry slushy that I kept in the freezer, so I guess I can go on for a while without eating.
The whole house held onto an awkward silence as I drank my cold sugary drink. But then I suddenly hear the sound of sheep and pigs upstairs. "Sweet! Now I can play minecraft!" I leap with joy, and land with a burst of speed heading towards my room.
That sense of joy however would disappear in a second, right when I would make a simple mistake. Right there just as I enter my room; I trip over my baseball bat, and I begin to fall over. But that was the least of my worries, because when I was falling all I could see was the slushy heading towards my computer. If those two collided, not only would I get yelled at by my parents. I would lose all my precious game data. Save files, DLCs, all of it... gone.
Time just slowed down for a moment, and all I could stare in horror as it splatters all over my desktop. Then a huge flash burst of electricity came after, and my vision blurred as I began to black out...
