Adam remembered when the door slammed on him when he was trying to get away from Michael. Dean was so busy holding up Sam, that the door closed right as he walked out. Adam cried out for his older brother, begged him to help, but it was no use.
Adam had to clench his eyes shut and put his hands over his ears once Michael's true form filled up the room. It was painful.
And the torture...oh, the torture Adam went through from Michael. He had no choice but to say yes, and all was silent.
He remembered that day on the battle field, an old graveyard in Lawrence, Kansas, where it all started, he supposed. He saw Sam. He wanted to scream out to him, beg him to help him, but he couldn't say anything, he couldn't move his own muscles. Only Michael could do that, and something told Adam that the archangel wouldn't help.
He remembered seeing Dean drive up in his Impala, the man blasting music as he pulled up.
Adam remembered Michael used his voice to speak, his mouth to form the words.
"You have no right to be here. You are no longer a part of this story."
Adam heard those words in his own voice, and he screamed for Michael to get out of his head. He didn't like the silence he felt. He didn't like the fact that he couldn't do anything but let Michael use his body to fight his brother.
"I ain't talking to you, buttercup, I'm talking to Adam."
"Adam isn't home right now," Michael had said and Adam screamed because he was right there, and he wanted Dean to help.
And then came Bobby and Castiel, and it was all downhill from there.
Michael and Lucifer arguing, Cas molotoving Michael, which felt like nothing but fire and pain and heat to Adam. Then coming back and seeing Sam jump into the pit, before Michael had fallen in himself, dragging Adam down with him.
Then there they were, trapped in the pit. Sam, Adam, and two very angry archangels.
First, Michael and Lucifer fought each other, which was a mass of high-pitched noises and heat. Then they turned to Sam and Adam.
Sam got it worse at the beginning. Lucifer was relentless, slashing and burning and hurting Sam to the point where the boys soul was tinged black.
Michael wouldn't even touch Adam at the beginning. Michael was the good son, the one who was supposed to help, not damage.
Then there was the light, the soft warmth that filled up the Cage. Adam reached towards it, begged it to save him, to pull him out of this hell hole.
But then it was gone, and so was Sam.
With no one to torture, Michael and Lucifer turned to Adam.
First it was burning. They burned Adam until he cried and screamed for mercy, and then they burned him some more. Then they tore into his skin, ripped him apart until he was nothing but shreds, then put him back together and started again.
It was complete and utter torture for...well, Adam wasn't sure how long he'd been here, but he waited and waited and waited for the day that someone came to save him.
"Adam," his mom's soft voice called and Adam looked up at her.
"Mom?" he asked and she caressed his face gently. He closed his eyes, trying to grasp onto her. Was this it? Was someone trying to save him?
"Open your eyes, Adam," Lucifer's cold voice whispered into his ear, and Adam opened his eyes, only to see his mom handing from her feet as blood dripped down her, Lucifer wielding a knife that gleamed with dark blood.
Adam screamed and buried himself in a corner, which he would not leave for the longest of times. He kept his eyes clenched shut and his hands over his ears, trying to ignore how real Lucifer's hallucinations were.
"Poor, precious boy, no one to save you, huh?" Lucifer muttered to Adam. "You know, I'd think that if your brothers cared enough, they'd save you. But yet, here you are, enjoying my company." The devil grinned sadistically. "Are you enjoying my company, Adam?"
Adam didn't answer.
"I asked you a question, now, are you going to answer it or not?"
Adam quivered in the Cage. He was lonely, it was dark, and he had no one to turn to.
"Hm...shame. I thought I was great company." Then Lucifer dug his fingers into Adam chest and tore him apart from the inside out.
Adam begged for mercy, cried and screamed for someone to save him. He also cursed at Michael, telling him that it was the angels fault Adam was in this mess, and that angels weren't supposed to bring pain and torture on humans.
Michael didn't do anything to Adam for a good five minutes, before the archangel went into a fit of rage and tore apart Adam, saying that he shouldn't disrespect someone as powerful as Michael.
Then Adam reminded Michael that pride was one of the seven deadly sins.
The torture Adam was put through after that stopped him from talking ever again to either angels, or even to himself.
Adam wanted to die, he wanted his soul to just burn up. He didn't care if he went to heaven or not, he just wanted to be anywhere but there.
