(Y/n)'s POV

~5 years old~
Dear diary,
Today is the day I'm turning five. The girls at school tell me I should be happy about it but, they don't know what my birthdays are like. On my birthday daddy takes me to see mommy. I don't like when I see mommy. She gets really angry at daddy. Daddy says I have to see mommy on my birthday because she misses me, but I don't believe that. When mommy gets mad she throws things and yells. Sometimes she hits me but daddy says she doesn't mean to. Oh daddy is calling me he says it's time to go visit mommy. Wish me luck.
Sincerely, (Y/n)

~The next day~

Dear diary,
Yesterday was bad. When we got there mommy was really mad and so was daddy. Mommy was yelling more than usual. When I asked daddy why he said it was because 'she took to much medicine and was feeling really sick' which made me worry about mommy but he said it would be okay.
It wasn't okay
We heard a loud knock on mommy's door and when she opened it a police officer came in and put her in hand cuffs. He was saying a bunch of stuff I couldn't understand. But daddy told me I was gonna be fine. The police man took mommy away after talking to daddy. I don't think I'm gonna see mommy again.

One of the most common questions I get is where I get song inspiration from. I usually tell them it's from ex-love interest and ex-best friends. But in reality while that is half the case a lot of inspiration for my songs comes from my mother and the times I would visit her in prison. My mom went to prison for doing drugs when I was five. The public doesn't know that and I don't plan on them finding out. The only people that actually know what happened to my mom are my band mates and my dad.

My band mates are my best friends. I know that's not the case for most bands but we were together all throughout middle school and playing music was the only way we all coped with our shitty lives. We don't do it for money we do it so people don't have to feel alone like we did before we found each other.

I have 3 band mates their names are: Yuki Rio, Ash Mioda , and Marsh (L/n).
Yuki and I were inseparable before middle school, but when he got caught up in the popular crowd and I was labeled as a 'misfit'. But one day when he got caught kissing a boy at a party his 'popular guy' reputation fell through instantly. We reconnected when I found him crying behind the school because the other kids wrote 'f*g' on his locker.

Ash and I met halfway through middle school when his parents moved here from Okinawa. He had one streak of blue in his jet black hair which is what made me take interest in him. Turns out he was a really cool guy, he just got really nervous around people which is why he got made fun of. Yuki and I decided to ask him to hang out and there a friendship bloomed.

Marsh is my older brother. My dad had him with another woman 3 years before I was born. He has always been my role model and my personal hero. He was there for me when my mom went to prison and when dad got to sick to take care of us. I personally don't really like heroes but, he deserves to be called one.

We started the band because one day we were all hanging out in my basement and while talking about random stuff we realized that everyone could play an instrument. Yuki was amazing on drums, Ash had great keyboard skills, Marsh could play guitar and, I could play bass guitar and we switch out singing different songs .

And that's how "The Rejects" was formed
