A Legend Rewritten

Growing Curiosity

     It was early in the morning the sound of clattering weapons we're heard from a clearing near a abandoned training far away from the village that little people now about.

    Sakura Haruno was training till dusk until she eventually went home before the sun fully raised. A reunion awaited her today, not that she planned any of it. It hindered her current plan but only for a couple of days who knows maybe it might turn out for the better.

     'I don't mind spending time with Shikamaru but I have the Uchiha clan massacre to prevent. It might not stop Sasuke from having a goal to surpass his brother but it might lessen his desire for power and too leave the village, at least he wouldn't have the desire to kill his big brother if the massacre was not to occur'

    Salura was in her room preparing all the stuff she needed for a day and a night at the Nara clan.

     "I never thought I'll get invited for a sleepover at the Nara clan" Sakura muttered heading down stairs for breakfast.

     She was wearing a long yellow dress that had white linings on the side, with her hair tied up with a red ribbon.

     "Morning mom" she said sitting down at the table.

      "Good morning Sakura, I assume you prepared the stuff you'll be bringing?" Her mother asked placing a plate of rolled omelet let in front of her.

      'I have three pairs of clothes one of which is good for training, a scroll filled with weapons for emergencies, a book of high classed jutsus in case I get bored, and other necessities I need for a sleepover like a tooth brush, towel, and my favorite slug pajamas but I cannot answer you with that cause I'm suppose to be two right now, and those words are not a two year old would know'

     "Yeh" she simply replied with a smile.

     Her father then came down stairs in a his shinobi uniform. "So you ready to go kiddo?" He asked sitting down beside his wife.

     Sakura simply nodded and continued eating, both her parents however we're worried.

      "You plan on making your son friends with a mere child? A civilian born none the least." An old man said

      Nara Shikaku was having a 'troublesome' meeting yet again with the Nara elders as he would put it, all because his son wanted to spend time with a girl who beat him at shogi.

     In all honesty Shikaku didn't see a reason as to why having Sakura over was a thing needed to be discussed in a meeting with the Nara elders nonetheless.

     Shikaku wanted his son to have friends in a way that he gets over his laziness that is known for a Nara's key trait, that and he also wanted to see the girl again to exam her further.

     "Well answer us" an old lady said pulling Shikaku out of his thoughts.

      'Honestly can't you just let my son be a normal kid for once. I already agreed to train him once he turns five and enters the academy' Shikaku thought eyeing the elders in front of him.

      He knew only one thing can persuade the elders on the Nara clan and he did not like it one bit but at the same time he didn't want to disappoint his only son his pride as a father is on the line.

     "The reason I invited her was because she caught my eyes, the reason as to what she did or how she did it is up to you to find out" he spoke

      The elders we're in debate as to believe him or not, but they knew that the only way a Nara would get interest in a person at first time they met if they somehow knew shogi.

       The game would say a lot about the person some would say it's a game to help pass time but for the Nara clan it was a game of intellect and a way of finding how a persons brain works.

      "Did this girl play a game with Shikamaru? Did the girl win or lose" one of the elders asked.

      Shikakau grinned, 'checkmate' he thought.

      "Like I said you have to find the rest out yourself, so I take it that you want her to stay" he replied.

      Sakura and Kizashi were making there way to the main Nara household. Never in Kizashi's life he would be taking his daughter to spend a day and a night at a elite clan at Konoha.

     "Dads chakra is rising he seems tense"

       "Who wouldn't be. His a father of a two year old girl that gets invited to spend a day and night at elite clan just because his daughterdefeated a Nara in shogi. Not only am I two and spending a night at a strangers house but I also defeated Shikamaru at shogi a game in which the Nara clan highly respects and practice."

      "So in simpler terms Shikaku used Shikamaru's request of you coming over as a means to evaluate you and to see if there's anything out of the ordinary, and by that to see if you a civilian born has the ability to become a prodigy similar if not better to that of even Itachi who still has to graduate from the academy, pass the chunnin exams and get into anbu. This whole thing could ruin your plan"

     "It won't cause I won't let it. I know how a clan works because I spend time with Hinata. Thanks to her I have a lot of insights about what goes on in a clan. Our main problem would be the clan elders and Shikaku himself. For starters I'm pretty sure both of them wish to further observe me and gather as much as they can. So I'll only show them what I want, that being I'm just a paper ninja and nothing more"

     "A paper ninja huh? You'll show you have brains but not the brawns. With that they won'suspect you being a prodigy not bad but it has it's flaws"

       "No plan is flawless, I and Shikamaru learned that the hard way"
