Reminder: This story was written for a school project on a fractured fairy tale. I never planned on putting it on wattpad, but I decided to anyway. This is only a short story, because I don't want the commitment of writting something too long. Please comment and give me some constructive criticism.

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, lived a prince. This prince was know for his good looks. Every girl in the kingdom wanted a kiss from the prince. The prince didn't want to kiss any of the girls. He said they weren't "good enough" for him. He only wanted a kiss from a beauty.

One day when he was fixing his hair, he heard a knock at his front door. Before opening it, he asked who was there. All he heard was a quiet voice, so he  opened the door to see who it was. As he opened the door, he noticed it was only an old lady. The prince asked her if she was lost, but all she said was that she was there to see him.

The prince didn't understand why an old lady would have come all the way to see him. "What can I do for you?" he asked.

"All I ask for is just a simple kiss from such a handsome prince." she replied.

After hearing what the old lady wanted, the prince could not stop laughing. He insisted that the woman was crazy. Why would such a handsome prince kiss an old woman just because she asked? He told the woman "no", and tried to shut the door, but she stopped it from closing.

"You're going to regret this!" she said.

"I have no regrets." replied the prince.

"If you say so," she said "Before I leave, I better tell you that you may want to fix your hair."

The prince didn't understand, so he just shut the door and went back into his castle. As he went in, he saw his reflection in the mirror and immediately screamed. It wasn't just his hair that was messed up; he was turned into a beast. How could he have turned from a handsome prince into a beast in only a few moments? He figured the old woman may have something to do with this, so he ran outside to try to find her, but she was already gone. He started thinking about what he could do, and then he thought of something. He remembered reading about how a kiss can break a curse. A kiss was the solution to his problem.

He began searching the town for someone who would kiss him, but every time he would ask, they would run away. As he was wondering the town, he saw a poster. It said "Wanted: A man to kiss a sleeping beauty to break a curse." He thought it was a good idea, so he found out the location of the beauty so he could kiss her.

The next day he found the sleeping beauty's castle and made his way up to her room. He saw the beauty and said out loud, "She really is a beauty." He leaned over to kiss her, but before he could, she woke up screaming, and ran out of the room. "I guess I really am ugly now," the prince admitted

He went back to town to see if anyone else would kiss him, but he didn't have good luck. He found a bench to sit on and accepted the fact that no one liked him anymore. As he was walking home, he bumped into a beautiful girl. She fell to the ground after loosing her footing, and the prince quickly helped her up. He apologized for not watching where he was going. She said that she understood and forgave the prince. She noticed by the tone in his voice that he was sad, so she asked him why he was so sad. He explained to the mysterious girl everything that recently happened to him. After hearing everything that happened to him recently, she felt heartbroken for the prince. As he finished explaining everything, the girl leaned over and kissed the prince.

Immediately he turned back into the prince. He realized what she did for him and asked her why she did it.

"I don't care what you look like, or who you are," she said "All I care about is if you have a kind heart, and you have just proven that to me."

"Why don't you care what I look like?" he replied, "Everyone else seems to care."

"I don't care because I'm blind." she said.

"That is a good reason," the prince said.

Within days after meeting, the prince and woman fell in love and got married. They spent every day telling each other how beautiful the other person was. Even though the woman was blind, she knew that she married the most handsome man of all.

The End
