Hoseok rubbed at his temples, he was tired and the tea he usually has every morning, his favorite one, now tastes plain on his tongue.

He rolled the crystal ball around on his marble table, dreading the preparations he'd have to start doing for the mortals in only half an hour from now and this was the only time he could relax before he goes to bed tonight.

Somedays, he wonders what it would've been like to live as a mortal, without restrictions, without having the title of a god, would he see the world as endless? Would loving someone be as simple as breathing to a human?

He glanced at the golden framed painting of all of his friends that hung in the middle of the large room, standing up he walked towards it smiling as he looked at his friends, tracing them with his delicate middle finger and stopping at Taehyungs smiling face, he sighed, maybe they just weren't meant to be.

Maybe he should give up, Jin and Jungkook have been telling him that Taehyung had many lovers and while Hoseok refused to believe the rumor it was starting to become difficult not to notice Taehyungs popularity. I mean, it was just a silly rumor that Jungkook had overheard while he had visited Taehyungs temple once, long ago, and it spread to Jin's ears. There was no reason to believe it was true and yet his heart felt heavy in his chest.

He turned away from the painting with a sigh, he needed to get dressed, putting aside all thoughts of Taehyung he decided to wear his best robe and paint his eyelids with the new colors his mother had sent him, he wanted to feel beautiful even if he felt his heartache.

As he finished touching up there was a knock on his door, Hoseok turned to look before looking back at himself in the large mirror one more time.

"Come in." He spoke elegantly, as his mother taught him, he couldn't show anyone that a God had imperfections even with their own voice.

The door creaked open to show Hoseoks attendant, a fine young man by the name of Utamus, the youngest son of the great Hermes and Hoseok's younger cousin, he was appointed to be under Hoseok to learn the ways of a God before helping his own father.

Utamus was exactly three hundred years younger than Hoseok, to a human's standards it's many, but to a god that would be only three years younger.

He had brown and blonde unruly hair, his eyes were light, of a gold color, he was brown-skinned with light freckles sprawled on his face and his frame was thin. He had already surpassed Hoseok in terms of height but they both knew Hoseok had more power coursing through his smaller frame.

"Good morning, I have a message to deliver, would you like me to read it for you now or tonight after your duties are finished?"

Hoseok turned to him with curiosity, "A message? From who?"

Utamus looked down at the envelope, a name in crimson letters written boldly on the front. "From, Kim Taehyung."

Hoseok nearly tripped over himself as he rushed toward Utamus before recollecting himself in front of the young man. "From Taehyung?"

Utamus looked surprised for a moment before nodding. "Yes, it is handwritten with his official seal. It was delivered earlier this morning."

Hoseok felt his heartbeat quickly, the apples of his cheeks had turned a light shade of pink, he turned towards the large clock and mentally swore as his free time had run out. "I'll just take it and read it on my own when I have some time later today, thank you Utamus. I need to rise the sun for the mortals now so I must go, I'll see you at around noon."

The young man held the letter out and Hoseok took it, putting it in his robe for safekeeping, leaving his home for another long day.
