Prologue
As years evolved, humans started putting their minds into robots. The government wiped their memories so they wouldn't disobey or retaliate. The government did this so there were no more crimes, no breaking of laws, everyone was perfect. Some didn't want to do it, but ended up so in the end. The androids were assigned certain roles, gardener, housekeeper, car mechanic. There were no children, as the androids couldn't grow up. The government pushed this message strongly onto the remaining humans, and soon started forcing it on people. The remaining humans disobeyed, and went into the night and were never seen or heard from. The government kept sending androids to look for them. Now in the year 2048 androids rule and humans are hiding.
This is their story.
Chapter 1
Tasha finished sawing the logs in half. They were creating more barriers for their village. They lived on a far-off island. They used our magic to protect. Not kill. That's what everyone taught me. "Hey Dameon, What we doing today?" Tasha asked. Dameon wiped the sweat off his forehead and didn't look at her. He admired his handiwork. "Hunting, for Rabacare meat. Tasha nodded. Rabacare were skittish creatures. They were like a cross between a rabbit and a spider with glowing eyes. "Or you can sort fruit with George." Dameon said. George was the village's grocer. If anyone needed food, he had anything. Even healing soup from the hospital where Eva worked. "I'm going hunting." Tasha said. She grabbed her sword. Tasha and Dameon went into the forest. They both saw the trees and mushrooms and plants. Nothing could beat Rabacare meat. The trees got more enchanted. The fungi glowed with a blue and green light. Red eyes peered at them. "Come on." Tasha said. Dameon came along with her, sword drawn. Tasha ran towards the Rabacare. She slashed and it skittered. Tasha was good, so she kept at her speed. Dameon attempted and missed. It hopped away and stuck it's pointed tentacles into the bark of a tree. It was up in a flash. Tasha was mad at Dameon, but who could blame him? He was just the laborer. "We had it!" She shouted, and threw her sword. "Tomorrow I guess," Dameon said. "Tonight, we'll be eating squirrel." He picked up Tasha's sword, which had a juicy squirrel right through it. She giggled. "Thanks, Dameon." She said. We headed back. "Tasha, there's something happening, at the front wall!" A villager said to her. "Oh no." Tasha said. "Hide." Other people whispered.
Chapter 2
Dekan stood at the gates of the village, village guards with their guns bolted at him. It didn't faze him, as he is an android. His friends were in hiding, waiting to come out if a single shot was fired. Dekan saw a girl with pale skin, gray eyes, reddish hair tied up into a ponytail. He scanned her. Tasha Reaves, born July 8th, 2024, 132 lbs, occupation: English Teacher, is against androids.
Dekan finished scanning her and talked. "I'm here for Mrs. Reaves." Someone whispered from the crowd. Tasha came forth. She kicked him. The other android officials came out of the bushes. "That's enough." They said. "Fine." Tasha answered. "What are you doing with her?" One villager asked. "I'm taking her." He declared. "No! I'll kill you all!" Dameon shouted. "Dameon that's enough! I'm going with him." Tasha complies. Dameon fires a shot. The officials attacked. "No! Don't hurt them!" Tasha cries. "Tasha, come with me!" Dekan says. "Why?" Tasha asks. "Just come on!" He said. They run.
Chapter 3
Tasha is good at it. Dekan doesn't have to be. They run through the forest. They climb a few trees, swinging from branches. They find a cave. Dekan sets a fire with his hand. "My village..." Tasha weeps. "This isn't my fault..." Dekan said. "I know." Tasha says. "But you could've stopped them." Dekan replies, "Tasha, I'm not on their side." He says. Tasha stops crying. "What? So you thought this was wrong as a human? And did it anyway?" Dekan was confused. Human? He was never a human. Only an android. "I'm not a human," he says. "I never was, I'm only an Android." He says. "Wait, you don't know? Don't remember?" I have so many questions to ask her. "Remember what?" Dekan asks. "Well, before this everybody was a human," Tasha says. "But one day people started transferring their minds into android bodies. So they were still the same people at heart, just in a different body." She says. "Make sense?" She asks. "Yes." he responds. "I thought that they were the same people, but the authorities were wiping their memories all along." She said. "Probably a mistake," He says. "I don't think so." Tasha says. "If it's a mistake, why are the government trying to push it so hard on people?" She asks. "What's your name?" She asked. "Dekan." Dekan says. They stop talking. They walk out of the cave and into the luscious fields of the forest.
Dekan and Tasha walked through the forest, Dekan taking in the colors all around him. "I didn't know you had your memory wiped." Tasha said. "I just...have this urge to fight back," Dekan said. "I'm on the wrong side." Tasha saw someone. She grasped the trunk of a tree. "Wait." Dekan said. "What?" Tasha whispers. Dekan entered processing mode. The world slowed. A time limit appears. He had to act. He could hide, run or fight. He chose to fight. He started running towards the person. He jumped onto a tree branch, and swung. He leaped into the air, and tried to attack the figure once he reached the ground. He plummeted, meters away from the person. The person punched him in the chest and he was sent flying backward. He hit the ground with a blow. He wasn't hurt. "Oh my God!" Tasha says as she approaches him. "I'll help- she was cut off as the Android flew and hit the ground. He stood tall. He swung his staff at Dekan. Dekan used his infinitely strong hands to block his staff  from connecting with him. He tried to push Dekan off of it and hit Tasha in the process, killing her. Dekan tries to hold back, but his opponent is to strong. He got hit with the staff. A message popped up on the screen. SHUTDOWN IMINENT: 2:21 left. "Good play." The android says as he is about to kill Dekan. Dekan stops time.
Chapter 4
He uses his strength to rewind time. He sees the flash of two shadows fighting with an army of other shadows. He is then back at the tree with Tasha. "See something?" She asked. "No, let's hide." Dekan says. "Good plan." Tasha said. They both climbed the tree. The figure walks slowly across the forest, scouting. "We need to climb higher." Dekan says. "Okay." Tasha says. She stands up, and jumps. She is hanging on the next branch. She climbs and hugs the trunk. Dekan does the same. The figure spots them. "Come out, maggots!" He said. Dekan and Tasha obey. The figure takes off his mask to reveal Dameon. "I knew it!" Tasha said. She hugged him. "What happened?" Tasha asked. "I have a few of the villagers. The rest are captured." He said. "Who?" Tasha asks. "Mary Cecilia, Selena, and Markus." He finished. "We'll come back to your camp." Tasha said. "No! We can't trust him!" Dekan said. "Woah, chill out, dude." Dameon said. "You're dangerous. I know you, you tried to kill us!" Dekan accused. "Dameon isn't dangerous, Dekan. We're fine." Tasha said. "Now move along." Dameon said. They traveled to Dameon's camp.
Chapter 5
It had a few villagers there. Charlotte, Hugo, Gary, Asher, Josh, Evan, and Angel. Tasha?" Dameon asked. "Yes, Dameon?" Tasha replied. "Why did you go with this android?" He asked. "He's on our side." Tasha argues. "Really?" Dameon asked. "Yes," Tasha said. "And they've wiped all memories of the humans that got put into the androids." Tasha explained. "That means that this guy thinks this is wrong, without knowing what his previous life was like." Dameon said. "Yes." Tasha says. "We need to keep him. He'll be the next breakthrough in our society since...forever." Tasha said. "Agreed." Dameon said. "Let's rest." Tasha said. She put her head on her pillow. Dekan didn't need to sleep and that android-Dameon had gone to sleep. Or at least, Dekan thought he had gone to sleep. He was the only one awake. Suddenly, the fake Dameon came out. He morphed into his original form. "Don't touch that girl. She's mine." Dekan answered. "No. I'm not letting you take her!" He objected. "You don't have a say in the matter." He says with a cold, hard look. "Fine." Dekan said. He walked away. He was fed up with everyone. He gazed at the river, wishing it wasn't like this.
Chapter 6
Tomorrow came, and Tasha woke up. The Android woke up. He was Dameon. Dekan scanned him. His model was #342 837 2736. His nickname was Government "Geo" Enforcer. Geo for short. Dekan finished. "So, about those villagers..." Geo brought up. "It's been on my mind the entire night." Tasha said. "We have to rescue them. We go into the city." Geo says. "How do you plan to save them?" Tasha asks. "We fight." Dekan said. "They're just gonna kill us." Geo said. "We need to show them that we're a threat," Dekan says. "That their precious machines have turned on them." Dekan finished. "Good plan, Dekan." Tasha said. "You're trusting this machine's plan?" Geo said. "You're an Android too!" Dekan spills. "Shut up!" Geo says. "Dameon, shut up! Dekan, do you have something to tell me?" Tasha asks. "He's an undercover android named Geo, I scanned his model." Tasha shook. "Dameon, you monster." Geo admitted. "Fine," Geo says as he morphed into his normal self. "I am an android. I was hunting you down. I've found you both." Geo said. "Tasha run!" Dekan screamed. Geo tried to hit him in the head. He entered slow-mo. He could kick Geo, put his hands on him, or push him. Dekan chose to push him. Geo punched him in the chest. Dekan kicked him in the knee. Geo faltered, but he kept going at Dekan with his ninja-like moves. He was fast, flawless. Yet Dekan dodged all his moves and when the time was right, he hit him. Dekan finally realized it wasn't going to end. They're both too powerful. Dekan thought, I can let myself get captured. Then I can take the villagers and escape. He thought. He stopped moving. Geo hit him in the head.
Chapter 7
Dekan woke up in a cold, dark cell. He had already advised a plan to get out. All he had to do was lockpick the cell, find the villagers, free them, and sneak out via rooftop. "Hey, Android." A guard said. "Get out, your time is over." Dekan was confused. He scanned the guy. He noticed he had an elevated heartbeat, meaning he was scared of Dekan. That meant he could escape easily. "Where am I going?" He asked. "To the wasteland. To be dismantled." The guard said. Figures. Dekan could play this right. He had to act stressed, stressing the guard out, giving him a chance of escape. "No, this is a mistake!" He pleaded. "No, now come on!" The guard said. "I'll be good, please!" Dekan kept pleading. "This is my job. I'm doing it. Androids aren't supposed to have feelings anyway." The human guard said. He took Dekan out of the cell. Dekan struggled to get out. The guard wrestled him. He was getting stressed out. Dekan's plan was working. Dekan pushed the guard and ran. The guard shot him in the heart. Except, he didn't have a heart. So he had a 23% chance of survival. The guard caught him. "Come on, you hunk of metal." He said as he dragged Dekan, bringing him to the wasteland. Dekan tried to rewind time, but he couldn't. He was too damaged. He tried to stay awake, or he wouldn't make it. He failed to stay awake. And when he woke up, he was at the wasteland.
Chapter 8
He was damaged beyond recognition. His legs were broken, he was missing his arm, he was deaf in both ears, his robotic lungs were damaged, making it hard to breathe. And he needed a new battery. There was other damaged androids there too. Dekan figures he could use their parts to repair himself. He found a girl Android. Her face was smashed up. He took it. He scanned the model of lung. It was right, so he put it in. He trudged through this hell, looking for parts. He found almost all of them. He found new legs, his left arm, he found some new lungs, and a battery. All that was left was his ears. He couldn't find a part that was compatible. He finally found it. He got his hearing back. He could see the sun rising over the gray sky. He had to get out of here and find out where Tasha went. He had to climb the dumpster mountain to get out. He started climbing. He saw all the other androids, and wanted to help them. I can help them by proving that there can be both androids and humans, He thought. Not one, not the other. We can find a way to divide them, Dekan thought to himself. If only it was that easy. He was almost done climbing the mountain. He pushed, and this is where he became...defiant. He felt powerful, he wasn't restrained by corporate laws, not the plastic fake nature the the other androids had. Not the machine right to obey. He...was human. He finished climbing the mountain. "Humans deserve life!" He shouted into the night. He walks into the distance as the sun rises over the sky.
