Chapter 11

John's POV

I was riding Plimpton as Yoshi broke into the room, "We've arrived." I said. "Dolittle!" Lord Thomas exclaimed. Alli and Stubbins were right behind me, "Clear a path there isn't a moment to waste." I said. "We have procured that which is said not to exist." I said as Alli pulled the fruit out of her pocket. "Behold the fruit of the Eden Tree." She said smiling.

Alli tossed it to me and I caught it, "I said clear a path." "Seize them." Lord Thomas said. Alli rolled her eyes, "Go." I said looking at Stubbins. He ran as I threw Mini with the fruit. I was under the table knocking people over as did Alli. They pulled us out just as Stubbins caught the fruit. He squeeze some juice for the queen. She took a breath and I looked at Alli who was smirking at me nodding her head, "Kevin I swear to gosh." She said pointing at the squirrel. Alli and I stood up and I walked over to the painting.

"Lady Rose is there a giraffe in my bedchamber?" The queen asked. "Yes and a polar bear, a gorilla, a parrot and a duck and a Ostrich." Lady Rose said. Alli looked at me she motioned to the painting near the flowers and I went to it, "Our humble thank be to God." Lord Thomas said. Alli rolled her eyes at him, "And well done Captain Nolan and Dr. Dolittle." He said.

Alli looked at me as did everyone else, "Not quite done are we." I said. I listened to what Styx had to say, "Interesting carry on on Styx I'm all ears." I said and listened to him. "Eh Styx here agreed to stay behind keep his twelve eyes on things he's just catching me up. Like all leaf insects he speaks in eight-syllable phrases and he states....." I was saying and listened to him. "Lord Thomas dud poison the queen." I said holding up eight fingers. "What? He did?!" I exclaimed.

"Really Dolittle this is too much." Lord Thomas scoffed. "You're certain?" I asked. He talked to me, "Well this would be the time." I said. He made his noises again, "No I'm sorry Styx is quite adamant." I said looking at them. "In this right pocket the vial." I said. "Darling." Alli said. She motioned at my fingers as I only held up six, "Sorry oh in his right pocket the vial of Deathly Nightshade." I said.

"Let's have a look shall we?" I asked. He looked at the guards and everyone, "You can't possibly believe that he's talking to an insect." He said. "I can." Alli said. Everyone looked at her even me, "I meant it in a good way." She said looking at me. "Well I've spoken to ladybugs making a wish before they fly away." The guard said. "Let's have a look." I said. He grabbed the guards knife backing up when Alli stuck her foot out and he tripped. Alli went in his right pocket and tossed it to the guard, "There you go." She said. He showed the queen, "To the tower with him." The queen said. "Ah somebody's been a bad boy." Jip said. Alli smiled at the dog scratching behind his ears.

"And I don't know why you're all standing there nobody's died or dying leave me in peace." She said. She looked at the pope, "Pretty sure that means you too." Alli said. He nodded and they all walked out which we almost did, "Not you Dr. Dolittle." She said. I stopped, "And where do you think your going Captain?" She asked. Alli just smiled and stood next to me, "A moment with you both please." She said. "Lady Rose who is this person and why is he staring at me?" The queen asked. "This is Stubbins." Lady Rose said.

"Uh I want to be an animal doctor." He said with a smile. "He saved your life." She said. The queen laughed looking at Alli and I we both nodded. Lady Rose kissed Stubbins' cheek and he looked away. I saw Alli smirking then looked at the queen, "Thank you both of you." She said. We nodded, "It's good to have you back Doctor." She said. "Poly." I called. "You as well Captain Nolan." She said. "Captain Stubbins your majesty and I don't think I'll be sailing anytime soon." She said looking back at be. I smiled at her.

"Anything you'd like to say to me?" Poly asked. "Aye you were right I suppose it is nice to get out of the house every once in a while." I said. "Come on little brother of mine." Alli said smiling at him. "You promise not to make a big deal in front of her and the queen." Stubbins mumbled. "I don't ever recall saying that to you." She said as Mini flew into my hat.

"So boyo what's the deal with you and Lady Rose?" I asked. "What are you talking about?" Stubbins asked. "Oh don't play that I don't know what you're talking about card that's our thing and you know it." Alli said. "Nothing's going on." He said. "Yeah, yeah keep telling yourself that." She said as she held my hand our fingers laced together. "I mean you two would be....." I was saying. "Alli ask him to stop." Stubbins said. "I'll stop." I said. "I am just wondering....." Alli was saying. "Is this how I was with you?" He asked. "Yep." She said chuckling as we went home.
