Riley and Shelby Story

Childhood and Years Later

My story is very long but it's only one part, so here it is...

It all started in a flashback from kindergarten when 5 year old Shelby Watkins was introduced to the whole class; she was shy at first but had the courage to introduce herself.

A teacher assigned Shelby to sit next to a  boy named Riley Griffin who is 1 year younger than her; he's quiet and smart but he's also a nice person.

"Hey, I'm Riley," Riley introduces himself to Shelby offering a handshake.
"I'm Shelby, I'm guessing you're new here too," Shelby says while shaking Riley's hand.

Their friendship blossomed from there and they get along very well until Riley asked Shelby to be best friends; she finally agreed and they head out for lunch.

Riley had a salad sandwich and Shelby had PB & J sandwich.

"Never seen you this healthy," says Shelby.
"Yeah, I sometimes get picky when I eat but I also choose any healthy food I can think of," Riley explained.
The two chat away until the bell rang for their final class.
"Wanna take the bus home together after this?" Shelby asks.
Riley smiled and said, "Sure."

They both go to their last class as usual until the dismissal bell rings and all of the students head home from school.

Riley finds Shelby at the bus stop going to the bus and catches up to her while heading inside the bus together and sits next to each other.

Riley took out his Rubik's cube from his backpack and tries to solve it by using his brain.

"Wow, that's an awesome cube," says Shelby.
"I have a spare one in my backpack," Riley says while getting a spare Rubik's cube out of his backpack and hands it to Shelby; he explains quickly to her how to use it and she tries to turn each section of the cube.

Riley's hands turn the sections of the cube faster and finishes solving it by putting the right colors while Shelby is still struggling to keep up.

"Here, let me do it," said Riley.
"Thanks," said Shelby.

Riley turns Shelby's section of the cube by putting in the right colors until it's completely finished.

Shelby drops her jaw in surprise and asks, "How did you do that so fast?!"
"You have to solve it while using your brain if you want to get to the matching squares," Riley replied.
"That's amazing," said Shelby.
Riley insists Shelby on keeping the spare Rubik's cube and she thanked him with a hug.

The bus stops at their street and the two got off.

"Well, see you tomorrow," Riley says.
"Bye," Shelby says back.

Riley and Shelby walk their separate ways to their homes in peace when the flashback finishes.

Years later, 18 year old Shelby works at the Dino Bite cafe inside the Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum while making burgers while 17 year old Riley comes in to visit her.

She notices in surprise and hugs him.

"Riley!!! I haven't seen you in a long time. What are you doing here?" she asks happily.
"Just visiting the museum and grabbing a bite to eat... I didn't know you work here," he answered.

"Yeah, I got this job not too long ago to keep myself busy." Shelby says while she shows Riley around inside the cafe.

When she was finished showing him around the cafe, Shelby asks him if he wants to work with her as a waiter.

"Are you kidding? I would love to work here!!!" Riley asks in excitement.
"Okay, I'll talk to Kendall and let you know what she says," Shelby replies while going to Kendall Morgan.

Meanwhile, Shelby asks Kendall in the office if her friend, Riley can work at the Dino Bite Cafe.

"Yes, he can work here but you have to show him how it's done," Kendall informs her and gives out the velociraptor badge with Riley's name with his dinosaur symbol.
"Oh my gosh, thank you so much!!!" Shelby replies with a cheerful tone and heads out to tell Riley.

Riley waits outside where the office and Shelby runs to tell him the good news.

"Good news, Riley... you can work here," says Shelby.
"Oh my gosh, really?! Thanks!!" Riley replied and gave her a hug.
"But I'll show you how it's done first," Shelby tells him.
"Alright, show me," Riley insisted her.

Shelby shows Riley to go to a random customers table while writing down their order and finishes it by waiting for their food while calling out their friends to prepare it in the kitchen.

Minutes later, the food is ready to be served and Shelby gets it by giving each one to the customers by saying, "Here's your order."

Riley nods and gets what Shelby was doing until her shift was over.

Later, Riley drives Shelby home but he gave her his mobile number just to stay in contact and she did the same thing while giving her a warm friendly hug and drove off to his family's ranch.

MY SUMMARY...
I decided to type this story because I was imagining of what it will be like if Riley and Shelby known each other since kindergarten but that's all I got to say.
