Chapter 3: Who I Am

When I was near the front gates, I heard some demigods fighting. So, I went at the front gates and saw demigods from camp fighting an army of Egyptian demigods.

I said, “What a pain.”

Then, I stood in front of them and looked at the straight in the eye. I concentrated and used my power.

I said, “Die.”

Then, they looked stunned and they died—turned into ashes and flew into the air.

When I turned, everyone was looking at me—their mouths hanging open. Chiron said, “Fattale, Rimmazure… Just who are you really?”

I grinned and suddenly, words came out of my mouth. I said, “Me? I’m a quarter-blood, a daughter of Jupiter and Venus. I’m the Goddess of Royalty, which means—everybody obeys me. FattaleRimmazure’s a fake name, of course. I… am Charlotte. Charlotte Ainsley. Satisfied?”

Then, I walked away. I didn’t know why I said that—given that I don’t have any memories. But I knew that wasn’t a lie. I felt great when I knew my real name anyway.

I left everyone shocked.

Then, Leo grabbed my hand and said, “Hey, you’re Charlotte Ainsley right? Can I call you ‘Lotti’?”

I looked down and said, “That’s probably what you called her…”

He said, “Who?”

I said, “Sharlotte Tiara…”

He looked away and nodded.

I said, “But—suit yourself, idiot.”

I let go of his hand and walked away.

While I walked, I was feeling down—maybe? I didn’t realize it before, but… I think I’m jealous of that Sharlotte Tiara. I’ve always wondered if Leo likes her even though she’s missing. And even though I try to hide it, I think I like him. I don’t know what ‘like’ means but—what is this feeling?

I looked back at him.

He smiled, waved his hand, and said, “Thanks for helping us defeat the intruders~!”

I blushed and said, “D-don’t get me wrong! I didn’t help you, I—just got bored. That’s all!”

Then, I ran away.

I was walking alone when someone suddenly grabbed my hand and covered my mouth. So, I drew my sword and put it on his neck.

He put his hand away from my mouth and said, “Hey, it’s me.”

I looked at him and saw that he was actually, Leo.

I frowned and said, “What’re you doing out here this late? You’ll get scolded by Chiron if he finds out.”

He smiled and said, “You worried ‘bout me?”

I blushed and said, “Hell no.”

Then, we realized we were still holding each other’s hand. I blushed and said, “Let go, idiot.”

He said, “No way. Let’s go.” He took me past the forest, and we arrived beside the ocean.

We sat in the sand and I stared at the sky and never realized I was smiling.

He said, “That’s—the first time I’ve seen you smile…”

I stopped smiling and said, “I—“

Leo hugged me before I could finish what I needed to say.

I blushed and said, “H-hey! W-what are you—“
