A flash of blinding white light flickered, a new image fading into existence.

Arrows, blades, blood, bodies- a massacre. Creatures and people alike- gone. Lives lost in the chaos.

Then again- flash.

A majestic dragon roaring as blood streams from its chest, an eerie glow emanating from its brilliant blue eyes.

Flash.

A battalion of men running scared as a black fog envelopes the woods behind them, a dangerous curse overtaking the woods.

Flash.

A green gemstone shining from the bottom of a shallow pond, its magic reawoken as the world around it nears its fate.

Flash.

A woman reaching into the water, cheeks tear stained, skin burned red.

Flash.

A little black bird surrounded by a condensing mist, enchanted to serve a purpose.

Flash.

Tears streaming down a young girl's face, flames reflected in her eyes as she watches a scene with such horror that it will haunt her forevermore.

Flash.

A man holding his young daughter in his arms as he hurries away from angry villagers, leaving behind the life he'd loved.

Flash.

A prince signing a piece of parchment with a worried look in his eyes, his father watching from above him with a nervous smile.

Flash.

A girl, with long wind-blown hair, standing over a pond of crystal water, a green gemstone necklace around her neck, a determined look on her face.

Flash.

An axe flying through the air, blade gleaming menacingly in the midafternoon sunlight as it falls to find its victim.

Flash.

A heap of ivy vines, thorns dripping with fresh blood after they served their sinister purpose.

Flash.

Broad wings spread wide in a moonlit night sky...

Flash.

Flash.

Flash.

Where the wicked water remains clear,

Where fate and death hover so near,

Where the magic of old disappeared,

This is where one must overcome the greatest fear.

When sanity hangs by only a thread,

When anxiety is overcome by dread,

When the ones most trusted have finally fled,

This is when the an end must come to the bloodshed.
