Hi guys! This is AQUA.
Quarantine is a very boring period I know. But it's also necessary.

In this time, we need to let loose of our creative side. And what better way to do that than writing! So, I decided to host this competition.

You can fill the forms in the next chapter.

Onto the details.

Every other week I will post a writing prompt for you to, well, write.

You will have one week to write the one shot and I will judge the next week. If you submit the one shot later than one week, points will be deducted depending on how late it is.

The points will be distributed like this:
Out of 10 for grammar
Out of 10 for Creativity
Out of 10 for timing
Out of 10 for plot
Out of 10 for how it makes the reader feel

So totally out of 50 points each round.

Every round 1-2 people will be elemenated (subject to change)

The prompt can be literally anything. They can be really vague or really specific. But it's how you mold that base that matters.

The one shot can be written as long or as short as you want.

I will only be announcing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. If you want to know your score, you can pm me.

The RULES are:

1. You cannot be rude to fellow writers.

2. You need to make a book titled Aqua's one shot entries.

3. You need to mention me in said book

4. SPREAD THE WORD

Now here are some tips.

Grammar: GRAMMAR IS IMPORTANT! Nothing spoils a good book more than badly punctuated sentences. Spellings are important too. If you can't remember how to spell something, what is autocorrect for! 😉

Plot: Keep your facts straight. If the character has green eyes in one scene and blue in the other, it makes no sense. And try not to add TOO many facts. For example, if in a one shot the main character has to argue with their friends. Don't bring in the entire football team and their cheerleading squad to argue! With a Ben and a Charlotte and a Winston and a Harry and a Veronica and a Josh. Let the readers connect with the characters.
Also, include dialogues, please.

Creativity: Cliché isn't bad, it's just that it's overused. Try to include some different elements of your own. First think of the first thing that comes to your mind when you read the prompt, then throw it away. Then think of the second thing, throw that away too. Basically do that till the fifth or sixth thing and then twist that.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want you to make the guy a werewolf who then turns to veganism. I'm just saying be creative. Go to different eras, different worlds. The sky is the limit, but don't blast off into space.

Timing: The later you post your one shot, the more marks will be deducted. You have time till a week but I will have to start deducting points if you are later than that.

Twist: Who doesn't love a twist which can totally throw you off? In a good way of course. But there has to be a reason behind what happens. You can't just bomb the city for no reason! Of course, if there is a war going on and they are planning an attack but the enemy strikes first, then it's totally plausible and creative. But if they are playing in the park during lunch time and suddenly their city is bombed, it makes no sense.
Cliffhangers are good too, but you need to leave with a statement that leaves an impression.

Feeling: Make the reader feel! Make them laugh, cry, shout in anger, anything. But just don't let them sit there monotone faced, yawning their way through.

The prizes may include but are not limited to:
A permanent place in my bio
Shoutout on my message board
Review of any of your book that you choose
Etc

You can fill the forms in the next chapter.

And, even if for a moment, you think you can't do it, you can! You are amazing! You have the skills!

Buh-bye!
