Yoongi flutters his eyes open when the orange light seeping through his eyelids becomes too annoying to ignore. He groans and flips to the other side, pulling his duvet up over his face so that he's sheathed in darkness once again. He needed to get better curtains, darker ones. But the damage was done, and he was awake now, there was no point trying to get back to sleep when he knew it would be pointless.
Yoongi pulls off the duvet with a groan and sits up, picking up his phone and checking the time. Fucking six in the morning. Six.
Yoongi lies back down to stare at his ceiling. Yesterday had been a fucking nightmare. It had started with having absolutely no luck in the studio, and ended with one of the worst migraines he's ever had. Plus all the shit that happened in between. That he wouldn't think about. He wouldn't.
Yoongi stands, rubbing his eyes as he slips from his room and into the kitchen, not surprised to see no one around. They probably wouldn't get up for another hour or so, they had practice but that was from eight so he had maybe an hour to kill before he was bombarded by the others. Yoongi turns the kettle on and makes some coffee, making sure to leave half in the jug for Namjoon later. He sits up on the counter and listens to the kettle whistle, breaking up the deft silence surrounding him like gunshots against the still air. Early morning air was different, yoongi muses, it just felt fresher somehow. The soft pink light seeping in through the window cast shadows against the white marble of the floor, creeping up the countertops to brush against yoongis bare toes that he swings back and forth childishly. He was never normally up this early, and was usually one of the last to get up, after hoseok. He liked his sleep.
But this wasn't so bad.Too bad the only reason he was even awake was because of his incessant anxiety that wouldn't let him sleep comfortably. All his nerves were shot because of yesterday, and his dreams had been less than pleasant.
But at least his migraine was more or less gone, he just felt a little tightness around his temples that he was sure would dissipate soon.
Yoongi closes his eyes briefly, trying to shake off the last bit of sleep that clung to them, but just about jumps a foot in the air and almost slips off the counter when a sudden voice pierces through the air.
"Yoongi-hyung?"
Yoongi clutches at his chest and breathes out heavily, while Jimin watches him amusedly with a small, tired smile. "You—you almost gave me a fucking heart attack,"
Jimin giggles. "Why are you up so early?"
Yoongi hops down off the counter and grabs his favourite black mug, pouring out the steaming black coffee when the kettle pings. "The light woke me up," he half lies. "What about you?"
Yoongi sits back up on the counter and jimin stays leant against the opposite counter with a small smile on his face. "I always get up this early,"
"Do you?"
Jimin shakes his head and turns around to pull out an orange juice carton from the fridge. "Yes, hyung, you're just never normally up at this time to know that,"
Yoongi weakly kicks at Jimin, who easily dodges his lazy attempts with a giggle and finishes pouring himself some juice, placing it back, and then hopping up onto the counter next to yoongi.
"Why do you wake up this early? Are you trying to torture yourself or something?" Yoongi asks, taking a sip from his coffee and then scowling as it burns his tongue.
Jimin laughs and pushes yoongis mug down and away from his mouth. "If it's hot don't drink it,"
"It's taking too long to cool down, I want it now,"
