There was nothing.

He could hear nothing.

He could see nothing

He was nothing.

It was like he was drowning. Being crushed by the pressure of countless waves above him. He felt a density in his ears, but not a single sound was to be heard.

. . .

When izuku hit the floor, it was like time slowed, but only for a moment. Dragging on, as if he had weights on his ankles as time trudged on. It was only mere seconds, but for bakugo time stopped. As he watched his childhood friend crash to the ground. By his own hand.

It was just a duel? Why did this happen? How could he let this happen? But his friend still hit the floor. The dreaded thud pulling him out of the trance.

He rushed forward, and collapsed before the boy. He was bleeding from the ears, but was nothing compared to the burn marks that covered almost his entire face and left side of his torso.  He wasn't responding. He wasn't moving. Nothing

And then the tears came. Pouring out over and over. Never seeming to end. They feel down his face, slipping down and of his face, onto the blistered and bleeding skin. There was nothing he could do. He was completely helpless.

He didn't even notice the scream escaping his lips untill it was gone. Cracked and broken. As his friend, that he only wanted to beat to the top, lay near dead in his arms. Skin broken beyond repair, and blood pouring from his ears. But the screams came without stopping. Nothing could stop them.

He felt arms wrap around him. He began to panic, thrashing his arms in order to get out of the grip that held him. Flinging his arms side to side, kicking and flailing his legs. The screams came harder now, with less breaking, and more yelling. He was blinded by sadness and rage.

And guilt.

Oh the guilt. Dripping off of him, burning and seething beneath his skin. Like a deranged animal clawing at the cage. Blinded by rage, guilt and sadness. He could only thrash. Not seeing what was going on.

But, his energy ran out. There was nothing he could do, why even try resisting. But, remembering the gore that he saw mere moments before, his stomach contents were dispelled out and onto the rubble covered ground.

And in one last attempt to make himself feel the pain he had inflicted, he lit the biggest explosion he could muster outward, to keep anyone away from him. He couldn't hurt anyone else.

He made someone else go through the same thing he is. Why? He didn't want someone else to lose there sense of hearing. He had to suffer by himself. But the die had already been cast.

His breathing picked up again, as he felt his world caving in. The hearing aid strapped to the side of his head becoming more and more present by the second. Until the pressure was too much.

But once again everything slowed, as he felt two arms wrap around him. The weight was lifted off his chest slightly, as he felt the arms of his boyfriend wrap around him. Yet he still tried to push him away, he can't hurt anyone else, much less his boyfriend. The love of his life more like. He continued to weakly struggle, but his stamina was significantly down, as he had just emptied his stomach moments before.

. . .

Kirishima showed up just in time to stop things from getting to far. First seeing his partner thrashing around, with tears running down his face and screams coming from him. But then moving his eyes to the pile of fresh vomit on the floor. Then to a sight he never wanted to see.

Many people crowding around the limp and battered form of an almost unrecognizable Izuku. But there was no way he could help in that case. He was no medical professional.

But he did know how to calm down an angery bakugo, and thats all he could do in that situation. And watch from the side lines as his friend was taken into an ambulance, battered and bloody.
